How to Save Money on Your Grocery Bill

Yes.... It is Actually Possible No Matter How Big Your Family Is.

Groceries have been going up in prices over the past few months. Finding ways to cut your grocery bill is a must if you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars a month. With my large family of nine people, seven of them kids, my husband and I have figured out how to spend less every week.

Make A List

Before you can begin to save, you need to open up all your cabinets and refrigerator and see exactly what you need. Write it down on a piece of paper. Write down the exact amount you need.

Sales

Check out the sales before you start your major grocery list. Write down on the paper which store you need to go to for the cheapest items. For instance when I did my main list, I went to Walmart, King Sooper, and Albertson's. Trust me it sounds like a pain, but it all works out for the best.

Coupons

Look online and in the paper for weekly coupons. If you put enough together you can definitely save a lot of money this way. Be sure to use the best coupons at stores that do double coupons. So much money can be saved.

Bulk Items

If you use a lot of condiments each month, your best bet is to buy ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, and other in bulk. Each item usually cost around $5.00 in bulk containers and last over a month.

Stick To The List

When you finally begin shopping for your main trip to the grocery store, stick to the list. Do not stray and buy other things you want unless it is something you forgot to put down and you use all the time. When you stick to a list, money is saved!

Last but not least, this is how we save the most money. Once you have finished all your shopping and everything is done. Put a notepad in the kitchen. Whenever you use something up, write it down immediately. In a few days take that list and replace everything on it. You will be surprised at how full your cabinets and refrigerator stays full. You will also see how much money you will begin to save.
