How I Save Money on Home Decor

Decorating your home does not have to be expensive. I will tell you how I save money on home decor by showcasing the items I purchase and where I purchase them.

Pictures and Picture Frames

I purchased the picture and picture frame in the photograph from the Dollar Tree. The total cost of the picture and frame was $2. I purchased three photographs with pictures and three with words and displayed them on my walls side by side. The total cost of the six pictures and six frames was $12. I purchased frames all in the same crimson color to keep the same color theme throughout the house.

I also frame my children's artwork and hang it on the wall. I only do this with special pieces such as hand print crafts with poems.

Wall Sticker Decals

Wall stickers decals are very inexpensive and add flare to walls. Wall stickers are easily removable which is an added bonus. I purchased some of my wall sticker decals at the Dollar Tree for a dollar per sticker. I purchased three wall sticker decals from the Dollar Tree for a total of $3 and hung one in each of my three bathrooms. I have purchased other wall stickers from Walmart for my children's bedrooms. My youngest daughter had Dora wall stickers on her wall for quite a while.

Artificial Flowers

Artificial flowers are beautiful and never have to be watered. I purchase mine from the Dollar Tree. They don't have to be expensive to be beautiful. At Christmas time I put out my artificial poinsettias.

Glass Gems and Shells

I use round glass gems to decorate my home. I use round glass gems in flower vases to compliment artificial flowers. Using glass gems or shells in clear bowls makes for a beautiful centerpiece. Glass gems can be purchased at craft stores, in the craft section of most stores, and at the Dollar Tree.

Silk Rose Petals

Silk rose petals come in a variety of colors and are elegant. I love silk rose petals in white, red, gold and silver. I use silk rose petals by putting them around centerpieces such as vases and candles. Silk rose petals can bring beauty to bathrooms and table tops. Silk rose petals also look beautiful around plates when entertaining. Silk heart petals, leaves, and butterflies are another option when decorating your home.
