- Use what you have.
When I redecorated my room, I was really stuck when it came to storing my jewellery, I have a huge collection of beautiful costume jewellery and nowhere to put it. My friend suggested that I used the jewellery as a feature of my room. I hung jewellery up in different places, draped it on dressing tables and other things like that.
This tip isn't limited to jewellery, you can use any pretty items that you have, beautiful tops or scarves can be hung or draped around the room, perfume bottles arranged on a dressing table can look classic and elegant.
- Instead of buying new furniture
Try and inject new life into your old stuff, for example, and old table or dresser can look pretty dull, but throw a sheet of black lace over the top and put a simple ornament on it to keep it in place and voila! It looks like a different item. You can also re paint it, re arrange it, anything to make it look different.
- Get what you can.
For nothing, places like freecycle have thousands of users that are willing to give away what they don't want, the only stipulation is that you must come and collect it. You can even get rid of anything that you don't want on there and you might find a bargain.
4.Paint.
You can buy paint from hardware stores, or you can look online for many recycling places that offer free paint, (it is sometimes hardware stores that have excess or they have mixed a colour that someone didn't want) Other places will offer it at great prices such as 50p per litre (again, you must collect)
5.Bed spread.Look at your bed covers, do they co ordinate with your room? Before you decide to redecorate the whole room, consider buying a new duvet cover set, you will be amazed at how much difference it can make.
