How to Save Money when Shopping

Jim Grayson
Saving money while shopping can be hard to do but it can also be beneficial. There are several different ways to go about saving money. There is no right or wrong way to go about it. Every penny, dime, or nickel you save ads up. These quick tips are sure to help.

1. Use coupons. Coupons can be found in newspapers, magazines, online, and even in the stores. Coupons can rage from saving a few cents to saving a few dollars or more on products.

2. Look for sales on the products you shopping for. Don't be afraid to ask a store employee if there are going to be any sales on the product or products you are looking for, the inside information can let you know if you might need to wait a few days before buying. Remember to check out the local store ads for sales.

3. Buy off brand. The off brands to name brand products most times are just as good but a lot less expensive. For example a brand name product of potato chips sells for $3.99 but the same type of chip in the off brand sells for much less at a $1.99. There are some name brands that just can be beat but on the ones that can purchase them and save some money.

4. Day old Rack. In our local supermarket they have what they call the day old rack where they put out on display day old breads, cakes, pies, and cookies, most bakery goods can be found on they day old rack. There is nothing wrong with these products other than they were not made fresh that day. They sell for up to a third of the cost of the fresh stuff.

5. Buy in bulk. Buying in bulk saves money because when you buy more of a product they can sell it for less. Look around your town and find where you can buy foods and products in bulk. The most famous one I know if is Sams Club. If you or your family use a lot of a certain item it would be beneficial to buy in bulk.

6. Shop online. Shopping online can be a great way to save you some of your hard earned cash. Most times online stores will sell items for way less than what you can purchase them for in the store. I am not sure exactly how they can offer the same item at sometimes hundreds of dollars less than an actual store but they do.

7. Never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach. One of the worst things a person can do is go shopping for food while they are hungry. Speaking from experience when I have gone to the store hungry I have came home with way more than I was supposed to get in the first place and its usually stuff I don't need.

Dissent is only Patriotic if we are disagreeing with the Republicans. It is tyranny if we are disagreeing with the Democrats or so they want us to think. Excellent Kim! Johnny Yuma
