To start your scrapbook twinchie, you need a two inch piece of cardstock. Most scrapbook twinchies are square in size, but you can really use any shape. This is going to be the base of the twinchie. Now you need to choose coordinating papers to layer onto your twichie to complete the color scheme. After you layer your twinchie, you can embellish it. There are virtually endless ways that you can embellish your twinchie.
Some choose to decorate your twinchie with stickers. Stickers can be quite unique, and there are so many different styles available. You can also use smaller ribbon and embellish your twinchie. You will want to cut about a six inch piece of ribbon, tie it into a bow, and attach with acid free adhesive. You can find ribbon at any of your major craft supply stores, and it comes in all sizes and designs.
You may choose to embellish your twinchie with a die cut. There are many different styles of die cutting machines you may already have in your craft room, such as a Xyron or Cricut machine. These machines easily cut out die cuts, which you can color or embellish with gems or glitter glue to give it a finished look.
Ensure that you are using all acid free materials on your project so that it will last you a lifetime. A strong adhesive will keep your twinchie together, which is nice if you are planning to attach your twinchies to a card, or something that you are going to give away. Twinchies are fun to make, as well as a cheap way to create your own embellishments that can look better than store purchased embellishments.
