How to Make Seed Packet Magnets

Pam Parent
Seed packet magnets make a great gift for the gardener. These magnets look beautiful displayed on the fridge, or you can replace the magnet with a hanger to make a colorful seed packet wall display for your kitchen.

Seed Packet Magnets

Color copies of your favorite seed packets
Modge Podge
Foam brush
Thin pieces of wood slightly larger than the seed packets
Clear varnish
Magnets
Paint brush
Glue gun and glue sticks

Directions:

1. Cut the seed packet pictures out that were copied.

2. Cover the top of your work area with a large plastic bag. Pour a small amount of Modge Podge in an old bowl. Lightly dip the sponge brush in the Modge Podge, then paint the Modge Podge on the back of the seed packet picture.
'
3. Place the seed packet picture centered on the piece of wood. Gently rub the picture with a damp sponge or the tips of your fingers to make sure the picture is free form air bubbles, and is secure to the wood. Let dry.

4. Paint a layer of varnish over the picture. Let dry.

5. Glue a magnet on the back, center of the piece of wood.

Display the pretty seed magnets on the fridge. Another fun decorating idea is to place these magnets on the back of a cookie sheet, then hang this sheet on a wall in a kitchen, or on the back of a door.
