How to Select an MP3 Player

John Messina
Not all MP3 players are the same. With emerging technology there are always some new features coming out on MP3 players. Usually the more features, the more money you will pay for the player. Below I have outlined a few basic steps to help you get started in selecting an MP3 player that meets your needs.

Step1:

Determine what you are going to use the MP3 player for. If you just want to transfer music from your PC to MP3 player, for listening, then you don't need all the bells and whistles.

Step2:

If you looking for an MP3 player that will download on-line music or audio books, then you may want one with Bluetooth or WiFi features. Check the features on the MP3 player to see what download services it supports. Just remember that you will need a wireless home network to take advantage of this feature.

Step3:

Determine how much storage space you need on your MP3 player to hold all your music files and allow for future growth. This will determine what size (2 GB, 4GB, 8GB,...etc.) Mp3 player you need to purchase.

Step4:

Look for a MP3 player that has an external memory slot to accommodate a Micro SD Memory Card. This will let you add additional storage for more music.

Step5:

It will usually be cheaper purchasing your MP3 player on-line. If you are not an on-line shopper then find the cheapest price on-line and print the page with the price. Bring it to the store you are going to purchase the player and see if they will match the on-line price; use this has part of your bargaining strategy.

Step6:

Always read on-line reviews from people who already purchased the MP3 player you are looking to purchase. You may change your mind when you read the negative reviews. With my research experience on MP3 players, you will be surprise of all the different problems with MP3 players; each has their own unique problem or issue.
