When searching for a new lace front wig or a half wig consider personal hair texture and how much blending will be necessary. Curly wigs that have a tight curly pattern or that resemble the hair texture of blow dried hair will not require any blending. Bangs that are left out will be easy to blend with the wig with a bit of gel or setting lotion. Thin jelly headbands can be placed on the wig line of half wigs to avoid having to blend. Kinky and curly wigs often look better the more they are worn. If the wig has actual curls roller set the front or do a twist out to create curls if personal hair texture does not naturally have defined curls.
Flat Ironed Natural Hair
Flat ironed natural hair often only lasts a few days before it starts to revert back curly. Pressing or flat ironing the hair again may lead to heat damage. Wearing a half wig that resembles the texture is important. Straight or wavy half wigs only require a small amount of hair to be blended in the front. If flat ironing the front is not an option choose a wig that does not require that any hair to be left out. Lace front wigs or full wigs with bangs are good options for not having to do any blending at the hairline. There are some manufacturers of wigs that have wigs that resemble courser hair textures when straightened. Good affordable brands to try if natural hair is kinky, course, or curly is Sensational, Janet Collection, and Outré.
Some synthetic hair can appear too shiny. Simply use a bit of cornstarch or baby powder to cut down on the shine.
When there is a specific wig style that looks close to the hairs texture when it is worn natural or flat ironed purchase multiples of that wig. Many online beauty supply stores often have sales with special discounts. If the same exact style is not available the manufacturer may have a similar style available. Use these tips to find a wig that matches when hair is left kinky or flat ironed straight.
