Fees
There are some fees but your profits will cover them if you do it right.
1. The start-up fee for Avon is $10, that's nothing compared to other companies. For example to sell TupperWare your start-up cost is around $99.00 for the basic kit. For $10 you get two campaigns worth of books. You will also receive one pack of samples, some basic business tools like your order book and a credit card slip. There will also be some reading material. READ ALL OF IT! I want to say that again READ ALL OF IT! The key to being successful at selling Avon is know everything you can about the company, the product, and your order.
2. Books are your number one fee. I have thought about having to pay for your own books and thought that they should cover that. The book is your store if you did not own where your store was located you would have to pay rent. To me the book is your form of rent. I order around 30 books every campaign and I spend about $10, thats not a lot for rent in my opinion.
3. So you have bought your books and got our customers orders back and start filling out receipts. On the receipt there is a .75 cent charge to the customer. I want to break that down for you. If you order an item from any where you pay the shipping. Avon does not charge shipping at all just the .75 cent fee. When you submit your order you will do a customer count and Avon will figure up how many .75 cent fees you should have. You get half of this back. Say you have 16 customers that is $12 in fees you will only have to pay $6 of that to Avon. The other $6 can be invested back in to your books or business supplies.
4. Shipping is FREE! Shipping is only free if you put your order in on time. ALWAYS PUT YOUR ORDER IN ON TIME. I tell my customers I have to have their orders at least 3 to 4 days before my order is due. My orders are due online every other Monday at noon so I always give them till Friday night. My helpers have till Sunday night. If someone calls me after that I will add the order but only if I have not processed my order for shipment. If I have I tell them they will have to wait until the next order goes in. I have never paid a late fee and all my customers know that I stick to my time-line.
5. Processing fee. There is a $2.50 charger per order for processing. The fee is to box your items for you. I will be the first to tell you they don't box your items organized at all. I look at the processing fee as my shipping. What other company would only charge you $2.50 to ship you your order?
6. eRep fee. There is a $7.50 a campaign charge for being an eRep. An eRep is an Avon rep who has an online store. Avon does not allow you to set up an online store anywhere but with them. This adds up to $15 a month, but the great part is it can be waived. If you have one customer shop online the fee is waived. I know reps that make a customer under their husbands name and order their personal items online to get the fee waived. This makes a great way to keep track of what you are spending on your self.
7. Business supplies. If you want to use Avons business supplies you will have to pay for them when you order them. You don't have to order them but they are handy. Business supplies include samples. All business supplies add to your total sales and will help add to how much you make in the long run.
OK so we have covered the fees that are included in selling Avon. Now lets move on to how to make money at selling Avon and not have to pay out of your pocket to cover the bill.
Selling
1. Never put your Avon money with your household money. Many reps fall in to the habit of just putting their Avon money in with the household money and spend it leaving them unable to pay the Avon bill. First thing you do when start selling Avon and start collecting money is open a new bank account for your Avon money. Mine is in my name only I am the only one who can deposit or with draw from it and I am the only one who has a debit card to it. Pay your bill before you pay yourself.
2. Don't order pre-order items that you can't sell. If the pre-order that campaign is some kind of skin care and you don't normally sell skin care don't order it. The preorder that gets most reps is order now pay later. Well if you can't sell the item you still have to pay for it. For me on pre-order items I get the sample that is offered. Normally its buy 3 samples get 1 free. This works out great for me cause I normally only have about 30 total customers that get books.
3. Know your profit percent. Avon only discounts items based on how much you sell the more you sell the more you make. Your first four campaigns are 50% every campaign there after is different. Also know that if you sign up in the middle of a campaign and you don't submit an order till the next one the campaign you signed up in counts as one of those four. To get 50% on your 2nd - 4th you have to have an order of $50 or more and order online. Know what kind of profits your going to have before ordering lots of samples or demos.
4.Pay your self. I don't do this but I also don't spend a lot on items. If you find your self spending a lot on products start paying your self to cover that. If you don't see profits but you have lots of Avon stuff around the house that might be a sign you need to start paying your self. I always figure out how much I will earn before I spend anything. If I know I am not going to make much I don't order anything but my books. If I have a lot of orders I might get something I want out of the whats new book.
In closing I am going to give you a few of my tips and things I have done to boost my orders and get new customers.
Tips
1. Ask questions. If you don't know the answer to something ask your upline, district manger, or on the Avon forums. Never just sit back and expect the answer to just come to you.
2. Research everything. Know everything you can about products like what they do, how they might help someone, cost, cost if bought else where and know as much as you can before you try to sell it to someone. Take the online courses offered by Avon they help more than people think.
3. Always have books on you. Take them everywhere with you. If you like a lot of Avon wear it when you go out. If someone says how nice it is say "Thank you its Avon, would you like to look at the most recent book." Your books are your store if you don't have one you can't sell anything out of it. Also if you are taking them every where with you, you can leave them everywhere. If you go out to eat leave it on the table, leave one in your shopping cart at the store, leave one in the doctors office, there are so many places you can leave a book that you will kick yourself if don't have one to leave when you find some where to leave it.
4. Everyone is a customer. Remember if you have family, friends and co-workers you have customers. If they tell you they don't like Avon or it cause them problems DO NOT BE PUSHY. Think about how you like to be treated. So if they say no I don't like Avon tell them OK and move on. Remember the thing that will keep your first customers coming back is the customer service. Offer them that extra thing to make them want to come back, Always remember anyone around you could be a customer. Something I do is when I give a friend or a family member a book I say if you don't have the money or don't want to order anything thats fine I just wanted to let you know that I am selling Avon and I would love to be your Avon Lady. 9 out or 10 times someone orders something. I am never pushy I normally don't call my customers about orders. I don't ever want to seem pushy to them.
5. Love what you do and let it show. If you are always up and positive about Avon you will sell more. If you find something you love let your customers know about it. For example I love the new acne treatment from Avon, I recommend it to everyone that might have acne problems. I love one of the lipsticks that Avon has and I recommend it all the time also.
6. Last but not least always treat yourself. If you had amazing sales this campaign go out to dinner with your profits or get something you have been wanting out of the Avon book. By treating your self you will want to do well over and over again.

Post a CommentGreat advice, here--and don't forget, Avon considers YOU, the rep, to be their customer; they concentrate on selling the rep the products and services, so you definitely have to control that; resisting the stock-up offers that you can't sell is very good advice!
IS THIS HOW IT WORKS ??
1. the customer gives you the money to pay for the product.
2. put in the order ( filling out a receipt ?? ) for the product & pay for it with the customers money
( fees for shipping and boxing - which you pay out of your pocket)
3. you receive 20% of the money from the product purchased , profit deposited to your account
( 20% later increases to 50% .. does it eventually increase higher to where you gain even more profit ? )
4. you give product to customer
To Jenn M This was wrote a few years ago but when was selling it was the first 4 you got 50% on but if your upline person signed you up in one campain and starts you in another one the campain your signed up in counts to your 4, say you sign up at the tail end of 16 but your first campain is 17 16 counts towards your 4. And yes some of this info is dated like the efees have changed some also
To everyone eles thank you for your comments and support :)
I wanna know why you're saying you get 50% in your first orders but I'm on my third campaign and only receive 20%. This information is either outdated or wrong.
i am new Avon leader trying to buildup my team....i have an offer for two weeks any one will to join my team will invest only on 50%..that is the actual sign up is $20 but if you sign up with me it will only be $10.
