How to Sell Rubber Stamps at Craft Fairs

If you make your own line of rubber stamps, a good place to sell them is at craft fairs. They are relatively cheap, and all types of people will be drawn to your booth, not just ladies who like doing crafts. It's possible to make a decent amount of money if circumstances are right and you set up your booth in the right way.

To ensure a profitable selling experience, you will need to find a fair with lots of people. The more people at the fair, the more will likely buy your rubber stamps. There are many resources on the internet to research specific craft fairs, and their popularity (how many people are likely to attend). Also research booth fees, and what types of other crafts are sold at a particular fair, to see if your products fit in well.

You will also need to set up your display to attract the most customers. You can display individual stamps next to a card with the image or words stamped on it. Show several different examples in different colors if you want to show versatility. You can also have several stamps and different colored ink pads available for potential customers to try out for themselves. Have a stack of blank paper nearby so the kiddies can create their own art to take home. You can even stamp your business name and web address in the corner of each paper for some cheap advertising.

You can also make some pre-made cards (with your beautiful stamped creations) to be on display to sell as well. You can have a variety of one-of a kind cards and charge a couple of dollars each for some extra profit. The profit margin on your cards will be huge as you will really only be paying for the card stock and ink for only pennies per card. This could be even more profitable near the holidays, or for a Christmas craft fair.

Another way to make money at a craft fair with your stamps is to use a machine that makes "instant stamps". These machines can make a stamp to order in as little as 5 minutes, so your customer can have their perfect custom stamp right there at your booth. You can have a variety of pre-set designs to choose from, or even make stamps from your customer's photograph. Plus you can charge at least twice as much for a custom stamp, when it cost you the same amount to make it as it did to make a regular stamp.

The stamp making business is fun and profitable. You can be as creative (or not, as there are computer programs to help you design the stamps if you want) as you want to be, while making a load of money at the many craft fairs around the country.
