Get Your Items Ready to Sell
View other similar items on eBay and see how other users are listing theirs. Some things to look for: Are they using a picture? Pictures will always help items sell people want to know what they are buying. How is their description? A good description is key to selling your video games buyers want honesty and accuracy. If your video game is in bad condition you will need to state that in the description.
You will receive feedback at the end of your listing. Feedback will show other potential buyers the type of seller you are. If your feedback is good then you may receive more bids on your auctions.
Take pictures of your video game(s) the first one is always free, and you will be charged a small amount for each one after. Create an honest and catchy description of what you are selling. I find it easier to first write up my description in Word or Notepad, and then just copy and paste it when I am ready to use it.
Create Your Listing
You will first need to have an account with eBay before you can sell your video games. After your account is created and you are on eBay in the right upper-left hand corner is a link for 'Sell' click on this there are some articles and tips you can read about selling. You can also look up your game to see what it is worth. When you are ready click on the 'Start selling' link to get started.
You can find a relevant category to list your item in or you can browse categories. I am going to say the video game I am selling is a PS3 Call of Duty World at War. I am not selling this game I am using it as an example. I would enter this game as a keyword and click search. You will be prompter for a category. I entered video games. Next you will have an option of imputing the title or UPC. If your game is found, eBay can provide you with a description and a picture of your item. If you decide to use this you should still insert notes of the condition your game is in you can use the description you created earlier.
Most of the listing has been created for you if you decided to use eBay's description. A subtitle area is provided but that is extra, and there is another area to add a listing designer. A visitor counter is free to you; this will keep track of the new and unique visitors to your listing.
The next step is the pricing step. How much do you want to start your Auction at? Most people will decide on $0.99, there is a fee no matter what you do here. You will also receive options of 'Buy it Now' you can add this is you have a set price in mind. Use the 'Reserve Price' if you want the bids to reach a certain amount before you even think about selling.
The next area is on how you wished to be paid; most sellers have and use PayPal. There are other options like checks and money orders. Next, you will move onto shipping. If you know the weight of your item and how it will be packaged you should use the shipping wizard. There are 3 shipping options for you to choose from try to at least pick a fast shipping option, and a really cheap shipping option.
The last step is to decide if you want any extra's like a gallery listing where your item will stand out. You will need to review your listing, and last decide on how you will pay. eBay has a few different ways like PayPal, Credit Card, and your Checking account. I have always used PayPal to pay for my eBay Listings.
Check Your Listing Daily
Check your listing at least once a day. Bidders could have questions regarding the items you have for sale. It is always good business to get back to them right away. Check and see if people are viewing your listing. If you have a good video game for sale and you are not receiving any visitors or bids, then you should revise your listing to make it stand out more.
Being organized and very detailed is what will sell your video game. The more information like pictures and your description should get you a higher selling price. Have fun with this and after your first listing it will be easy you will be a pro.
