How to Sell Yourself

In today's big and multinational organizations, the man power is considered as their assets and not mere liability. These organizations behavior with the employees is changed. They invest lot of money in the employees by way of rigorous training and upgrade them with today's competitive market. Let it be a manufacturing unit where quality is must keeping in mind the cost cutting concept. Let it be marketing and selling products, continuous training plays vital role. You join any department, your training starts from day one. To survive in these organizations for longer period, we as an employees, need something little extra to prove our self as the best.

If you are well qualified for the required post and have been selected for the same, you must start working on yourself. Consider yourself as a product. You are the one who has to do your own marketing and selling. Gone are the days when you once joined any company, would remain there as long as you work hard and honestly. Today the scenario is changed. Smart working is preferred more than just hard working. It is important how you present yourself. As mentioned earlier, you are a product now. You must learn the art of selling yourself at best price and that too quickly.

While presenting yourself, observe those few good men and their behavior. You need to be among these few good men and not at the bottom line with other average employees. Check up your dress sense. If there is no uniform dressing then go with some good formal dressing. Take some time before entering in to your office. Look at your face, your hair, your tie, your clothes, shoes has to be neat and clean. See that you are carrying a good quality office bag. No bad breath. No bad body odour. You need to care of every little thing that you display or when you present yourself. Observe those high calibre top executives. Their body language. Their confidence while they talk. Their style or the way they present themselves. Watch how they walk. Observe every small details. Try to study their impression on others. You need to follow them. They are your management Guru. They won't teach you all these things. You need to learn those things by watching them carefully.

Once you learn all these tricks and have started following those high ranked executives, Your job is not finished here. You also need to concentrate on your work which is your prime concern. After all, the packing attracts the customer, but the product within has to be equally good. Plan your days work in advance. Set some targets for the some. Follow the priorities. Concentrate on your work. Don't waste time on secondary things. Manage your time and finish your work within stipulated time. You must have some spare time with you for any unexpected work which might come as a surprise. This is how I describe smart working and not just hard working. You must have time for every thing.

Upgrade your knowledge and skills. Do some home work with latest computer based office systems. Work on your physique. Work on your body language. Remove all those negative thoughts. No fear of failure. Stay in front of mirror and see yourself as a winner. Believe in yourself. Keep yourself fit by joining fitness center or play your choice of sport so that you can stay trim and fit. Read some good management books which will motivate you. All these things together will present you in a better way. That is what is required to sell yourself in today's competitive market. You must have your own confidence level at very high. These are the best proven methods to sell yourself if you have any goals in your life. The choice is with you. You want to be among those few good men or at the bottom line with an average employees.
