Setting goals is not important, it is imperative. Until you make a commitment is highly unlikely you will ever get off square one. And yet, this simplest of actions is the most overlooked by people who start to think about making money online.

The next thing that you need to be sure of is that your goal includes a time limit. To be any good, your goal must have a time limit for its completion. As you can see in the above example this goal is a short-term one must be accomplished today.

Your goal must also be reasonable or believable, just as shown in the example. A goal such as "I will make $1 million" completely lacks credibility, even to yourself. If you believe that you have a chance of accomplishing your goal then you will try harder and are far more likely to succeed.

Although this point is not imperative is highly recommended that every goal be written down; this is sort of akin to setting your goal in stone.

Finally you must keep your goals in the forefront of your mind every single day. This is why writing down your goals is a good idea; it allows you to display them in a location where they may be constantly viewed. At the very least you should make a point of consciously thinking about whatever goal you have set at least once a day to ensure that you stick with it and do not stray from your desired path.
