Start off in the Control Panel and select "Internet settings." Then select "Internet accounts." You should be presented with a list of Internet accounts that were built in to your phone. Next select Options->New Account->Data.
Enter the following information on the screen:
Account Name: ATT
Address: wap.cingular
(check Username and password required, caps must be on for this part)
User name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Next select Options->Save
Now set ATT as your preferred account by selecting options->preferred account. ATT will than by in italics.
Now you must create another account
Following the same steps above:
Account Name: ATT MMS
Address: wap.cingular
(check Username and password required, caps must be on for this part)
User name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Next select Options->Proxy and check the box "Use proxy server"
Proxy server address: 066.209.011.032
Proxy server port: 8080
Now select Option->Save to save the proxy addresses, and then Option->Save to save ATT MMS account.
Go back to the control panel, and select MSG SETTINGS, and then MMS account and enter the following settings:
Preset account: Other
Service centre address: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Internet account: ATT MMS
Auto download: On
Download size: Smaller than
Smaller than: 100KB
Options->Save
You can now send and receive MMS with the Z8, or any other import phone. The trick is in creating 2 accounts, because MMS requires the proxy while the WAP does not. If you are using the data connection to surf the web, and get an MMS you will get a msg on the phone asking if you want to interrupt the date transmission and switch to the MMS account.
