How to Set the Perfect Romantic St. Valentine's Day Mood

Make Your Valentine Feel Special

Robin Vinci
Do you have a special someone you are spending Valentine's Day with, but unsure of how to create the perfect mood?

Here are a few ideas that will make this night very special.

First, you must plan ahead. Perhaps, the living room will be the ideal spot. Or, maybe you want to rent a motel room in advance.

Put down a few blankets and pillows on the floor if in your home, for a comfy nest the two of you can snuggle in. This makes the night seem special. If possible make the theme red and black. Heart shaped pillows add to the atmosphere. You may have to spend a few dollars, but done right it will be worth it.

Decorate the room with heart streamers, flower pedals, other themed decorations and low lit candles. Once again do everything in red and black.

Prepare a dish with grapes, cheese, nuts, candy and other foods you can feed your spouse by hand. Maybe, a bottle of champagne with two glasses will add to the feeling of the night.

Prepare a CD with favorite romantic songs. Just google romantic songs if you need ideas.

If you are a male, hide a new red lingerie piece under your spouse's pillow for them to find and slip into at some point in the evening.

If you are a female, purchase sexy lingerie for you to put on at the appropriate time. Maybe even find something naughty for your partner.

Wear a light perfume or cologne. Do not wear too much as that is a romance killer.

You can plan some dirty games available for purchase on-line or at specialty stores.

If you are a male, find a romantic chic flick on DVD to help make your girl feel romantic. Maybe, find one she has seen before that she especially loves.

Remember you must make this night about them.

Now that the room is set, go out to dinner first (make a reservation in advance as it is a busy night) and be sure to have red roses, a romantic greeting card and a box of candy. It isn't Valentine's Day without those items. No matter what your partner tells you, get them.

Be sure you are dressed in a stunning outfit (not necessarily a tux, suit or evening gown) and are well-groomed.

When you return home ask them to close their eyes and bring them slowly into the room. Your Valentine will be amazed by the thought and time put into making that room special for them. That right there is enough to make the night special. The rest is up to you.
