How to Setup a Dada Profile

Because this new and popular social networking community is a little difficult to figure it I'm going to get straight to the point and get you rolling. First and foremost when you are on your profile you will see My Passions, My Blog, My Sound Bites, My Photos, My Videos, Forums, Classifieds, My Latest Visits, My Buddies, and Comments Received. Yes, thats a lot on one page so it gets confusing and to setup your profile with your own background you must do the following.

#1 Look in the Top Left portion of your profile right underneath the navigation bar and you will see Edit Theme, Edit Colors, Edit Layout. Now if you want to use the choices they give you which is I believe 31 you can select Edit Theme and just pick the one you want to use and then click OK. However think of how many people use this website which means many of them only know to use that system. So if you are a beginning networker I suggest probably at least starting out with this to figure out how things work.

#2 If you want to be original its a little more complicated to do your own but its so much more fun when you are finished because people will be coming by your profile asking you how you made your page look so good. In order to do this the first thing you need to do is find a background that you want to use. You can google search "Myspace Layouts" and get so many searches you won't ever have time to search them all. Start out with something like Pimp-My-Profile,Revolution Myspace or HotFreeLayouts those are the ones I prefer.

When you find the one that you want click the Preview link. This will let you view an example of what it will look like on a MySpace page, but don't worry it works on any networking site. All you do is right click your mouse on the background. Select Save Background As and name your file. When you are finished come back to Dada.

#3 Here is where its confusing mostly due in part because you don't place HTML anywhere or is there a back office to upload your photo and that is because everything is already on your page. You will need to go to the My Photos section on your profile. You will see on the right side of the box where it says Upload New Photos. Click that link. All you do there is click the Browse button and upload your background you recently saved. It will take a few minutes to upload but when it is finished you will be re-directed to an area where you can categorize everything.

First there will be a Title or Headline you can give it, then it will ask you for tags to associated it with. For example if you have a background photo of Jessica Simpson you would want the tags to be something like; girls, hot, music, lyrics, sexy, jessica simpson. Then if you wish to write a little description you may do so. Right underneath that is a drop down menu where you pick the category this will be viewed the most in; in this instance you would choose either celebrities, music, sexy, or movies. Note: Music gets searched a lot there. When you are done link the Go Back To Archives My Photos link.

If you look at the top right of your page you will see your username, click on that to go back to your profile. Now keep in mind there is so much traffic on this site you may have to wait an hour or two to see the photo in Edit Colors section. Which is where we are headed next.

#4 Remember earlier the Edit Theme, Edit Colors, Edit Layout area was in the top left right below the navigation bar? Click Edit Colors. Here you will see Background Image and all you need to do is click the box and your background photo should be in there. If your photo is dark you will want lighter text colors which you will see on the right side. Click Text Color and you can choose whatever color you wish. A light background photo would constitute dark text, and everything else is self-explanatory in the area but when you are finished simply click OK and you now have your background.

There are many other things you can do with your page, but setting it up with your profile picture, a background, and a photo is a start. I hope I have saved you substantial amounts of time to where you could utilize that time uploading music or videos.
