How to Make a Sexy Bunny Halloween Costume

One of the cutest Halloween costumes I've ever done was my Bunny costume! Its playful, fun, and super cute! Bunny costumes are easy to put together with just a little time, makeup, and lingerie, and not a lot of fuss. Between Playboy Bunny fashions hitting the mainstream stores in the malls, and the release of movies like "The House Bunny" with Anna Faris this summer, being a Bunny this Halloween is a surefire hit.

This is a costume anyone can do, no matter what their size or shape. Any Bunny you meet will tell you that it's less about what she's wearing, and more about how she carries it off. Confidence is key here; if you aren't enjoying yourself because you're worried about your ass, it's going to show. Also, remember that what you conceal can make you just as sexy and mysterious as what you reveal (maybe moreso!) - you don't need to show off a lot of flesh for this costume to work for you.

First, find some lingerie or a swimsuit that suits you, and makes you feel confidant. Some women prefer a one-piece, and others prefer to use layers with corsets and panties. Make sure that you can move around in whatever you choose comfortably, remember - most lingerie is only meant to be on for a short time before it comes off, but this is going to be your outfit for the whole night! Practice bending, sitting, dancing, and just moving around in general so you have an idea of the limitations of your costume and can prevent too many "wardrobe malfunctions."

Fishnet stockings are typical for this kind of costume, but go with what works best for you. If you have a pair of silk stockings you love because they make you feel sexy - use those! Colored stockings can be good too; darker colors hide veins and flaws you might want to draw attention away from. Your shoes should be some drop-dead sexy pumps, or classic kitten-heeled slippers with a little marabou at the toes. Be warned here, if you're wearing anything with open toes, it goes without saying that you'll want to have your pedicure freshly done. As hot as you're going to be, there's no telling who will want to nibble on various parts of you throughout the night!

Next, pick a makeup look that compliments your skin tone and hair color. If you're planning on wearing a wig to make your hair drastically different, plan your makeup around your new hair color to make it look more natural. Remember, for blonds, your makeup will want to lean towards pinks for cheeks and lips and pastels for eyes. For redheads, try a super-glam green eyeshadow, and warmer apricots and cinnamon hues for blush and lipstick. Brunettes might want to add a little drama with darker purples and silvery grays for their eyes, and a killer blue-based red on their lips. For everyone, mascara and lipgloss are a must! You want to look like a polished airbrushed sex symbol here!

Hairstyles can either be a flirty ponytail at the top of the head, or left hanging down your back, or you can always find a wig if you don't want to force your hair to behave. Just make sure that no matter what hair you're using, you can comfortably fit your headband into it and it won't ruin your coiffure.

For this costume, the props are really what makes it fabulous. You always have the option of making your own props, but they're just as easy to find in any Halloween store or year-round costume store, too. Bunny ears and a powder-puff tail are really all you need.

To make bunny ears, use a wire coat hanger, pink and white pieces of felt, a comfortable headband, and some superglue. Straighten the wire hanger as best you can, you might want to use a pair of pliers to help you with this, but it can mostly be done by hand. Then bend the wire into the shape you want your ears to take. Once you have them bent the way you want, use the felt and superglue to cover them and make them look like bunny ears, with the white on the outside and the pink in the middle. Attach them to your headband with any leftover felt and glue, and you're all set! You can make your own powderpuff tail from a white cotton ball, available at most craft stores. (Hint: If you want to use your lingerie for anything other than a bunny suit again, use velcro to attach your tail!)
