How to Get Shiny Hair

Tiffany Bell
For some woman it's not always easy getting healthy and shiny hair. There are so many hair products and styling tools that can dry out a person's hair and make it look dull. If you suffer from dull hair, there are some things that you can do to go from dull hair to shiny hair, and it doesn't take as much work as you think. Here are some tips and ideas hat I have used that can help you get healthy and shiny hair.

Not washing your hair everyday will help aid in getting shiny hair. For some woman this may sound weird or gross, but it does work. There is no reason, unless you workout and sweat heavily everyday, that you need to wash your hair everyday. Washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner strips the natural oils form your hair, making it look dull. Natural oils in your hair is the cause behind shiny hair and if you wash them away everyday you are drying out your hair and it will look duller.

If you notice that you don't have shiny hair, try buying shampoo and conditioner that is made for color-treated hair. These products are not as harsh on your hair as regular shampoo and conditioners are. They also will not strip the color from your hair which makes it look duller.

If your problem is that you have frizzy hair instead of dry hair, that is a sign that your hair is too dry. Look for anti-frizz serums that you leave on your hair when it is damp. These products work the best, especially if you are going to be blow-drying your hair. One line of hair products that I like is the John Frieda Frizz Ease line. They can be found at any drugstore or basically anywhere that sells hair products like Wal-Mart. They are not that expensive and they will give you frizz-free, shiny hair.

Another way to tame your frizzy hair and make it shiny is to use a flat iron. The thing with a flat iron is that you have to find one that will not dry out your hair even more. You will have to spend some money on a good flat iron if you want shiny hair. A good flat iron will take the frizz out of your hair and tame it so it looks sleek and shiny. Make sure when you are flat ironing your hair that you take it in small sections at a time. This will give you the best results.

The last tip for getting shiny hair is using a deep-conditioner on a weekly basis. You don't have to spend a lot of money on a deep-conditioner to get shiny hair. Look at your local drugstore and you will find several deep-conditioners that will do the trick. Don't use the conditioner more than once a week as it may make your hair too greasy and that is not what you want when you talk about wanting shiny hair.
