How to Get Shiny Hair Naturally

Susan Brown
What guy doesn't get awe-struck at the sight of a girl with long, shiny locks? It's the shiny part that gets him! If that same girl had frizzy, dull, dry hair, it's doubtful that same guy would be looking at her the same way. Shiny hair is just plain beautiful because it gives the impression of health and lust! These are the top natural ways to achieve that aspect of physical beauty . . .

#1 Aloe Vera

This is the best way to get shiny hair. Use 100% aloe vera gel (make sure you don't use a mixture that contains things like alcohol, which will only damage your hair) in place of your regular styling gel. Or, after you wash your hair, put the aloe vera gel all throughout your hair and let it dry. Then, comb it out. You will notice a difference right from the first time you use it, but the more regular you are with it, the better.

#2 Cold Water

Cold water has so many great benefits, and one of them (done routinely and regularly) is shinier hair! How to do it? Just finish off your regular shower with a cold shower, making sure to get it all throughout your hair. Yeah, it's a little unbearable but you will get used to it!

#3 Olive Oil Massage

Every time you are setting up to wash your hair, first do a light massage of olive oil into your hair. Focus mostly on your scalp. Pouring the oil (extra virgin olive oil is the best) directly onto the scalp and working it out through the rest of the hair from there.

When you shower, lightly shampoo (don't do a deep shampoo, just enough to feel clean). If you choose, use a conditioning treatment afterward but keep in mind you don't have to because the olive oil is the focus here.

It's best to airdry your hair after this treatment, but you can blow dry it if on the run. Your hair will feel so great afterward, and so improved in texture!

#4 Diet

This is definitely an important aspect to getting shiny hair. You need to be eating protein-rich foods like legumes and dark leafy greens. Raw vegetables are the best way to go, but things like sodas and sugary foods don't do your hair any justice. Replace your typical drink with pure water - 8 cups a day!

#5 Vitamins

Vitamin E is essential for shiny hair, as is vitamin C. Also try incorporating gelatin tablets, which are proven to help hair growth and strength (and nails!).
