What you will need:
A pair of shoes (either ½ a size or a whole size too small)
Water
Ziploc baggy (preferably a quart)
A freezer
Step one:
First you will need two quart sized Ziploc baggies. Fill each Ziploc baggy approx. 1/8th of the way full with water. Or you can put approx. 1 cup of water into the baggies.
Step two:
Get the pair of shoes you would like to wear but are a little too small. You are going to place the baggies (with the water in them - sealed up so no water can spill out) inside of the shoes. Push the baggies all the way down into the toe section.
Step three:
After you have placed the baggies inside the shoes, place the shoes into a freezer. Try to make the shoes as level as possible so the water freezes evenly within the shoes. Leave the shoes in the water in the baggies is completely frozen.
Step four:
Now you are going to remove the shoes from the freezer and remove the baggies. Allow the shoes to thaw approx. 30 minutes before you remove the baggies. If you remove the baggies before you allow them to thaw, you could end up damaging the shoes (so it is best to have a little patience and let them sit).
The ice within the baggies does not have to be unthawed all the way before you remove the baggies from inside the shoes. Just make sure you can remove the bags without having to yank and tug on the shoes to get them out.
Step five:
Now just let your shoes warm up a little (unless you don't mind cold feet) and try them on.
It is best if you use this technique on shoes that are a little too small width wise rather than length. You can also use this technique on shoes that do fit you but need broken in a little.
If you are trying to break your shoes in and they fit, I would suggest not leaving them in the freezer too long. The longer the shoes are in the freezer, the more the will expand due to the ice pushing on them.
I hope this helps you out and good luck with the shoe stretching!

Post a CommentMy black pumps are currently in the freezer, they were too tight around the toe section. I hope this works!
