The Windows 95, 98 and NT operating system will keep some hidden files and hidden folders. These hidden files are commonly system files and folders. Learn how to show these hidden files on your Windows 95, 98 and NT system.

  1. to your desktop and double click on you're My Computer icon to open it. Click on "View" at the top of the dialogue Window.
  2. Select Options from the dropdown menu that opens and then click on View tab in the File Options window. .
  3. Scroll down the dialogue window to find the option labeled: Show all files. Check the radio button that is next to this option.
  4. Click OK and then close the My Computer window.
  5. You have now enabled Windows to show your hidden files and folders.

  1. click on the My Computer icon. Click "View" in the menu at the top of the window.
  2. Click on Options from the context menu that will open. This will open the File Options window. Click on the View tab in this window.
  3. Scroll down to the option that's labeled Show all files. Click on the Show all files.
  4. Click Apply and then shut the My Computer window
