How to Side Sweep Bangs

Wendy Brock
Side swept bangs are cute and stylish and anyone can get the look like a professional. This popular style is worn by most of the celebrities, even with different shaped faces. Kirsten Dunst has a round face and wears thick side swept bags. Reese Witherspoon's heart shaped face looks great with thinner, wispy bangs that show more of her forehead. There are a few products you'll need before getting started: a hair dryer, a flat iron, smoothing serum, and maximum hold hairspray.

First you'll need a cut for the side swept looked. If your bangs are long, pull down the amount of hair you want for your bangs then hold them between your first and middle fingers. Make sure they are straightened out and not clumped together. Pull your fingers down to the tip of your nose and cut straight across right above your fingers. Even though its a straight cut, you will be able to side sweep your bangs. If you prefer to cut your bangs after you've washed it and while its wet, do so.

As soon as you've washed your hair towel dry it. Then comb or pick it out. Use a smoothing serum to tame frizzy hair and fly-away hair. Drop a dime-sized amount of the serum into your palm then rub both palms together. Don't start from the roots because this will make your roots oily. Run your hands through your hair from beneath your hair.

Next, dry your hair with a hair dryer set on medium heat. Pull your bangs to the side with a hairbrush while you blow dry them. Keep blow drying your bangs in the direction you want them to go. Finish drying the rest of your hair.

Comb or brush your bangs over to the side. Spray them with hairspray. You may want to lift them up and spray them on the underside of your bangs. This will help them stay in place.

Side swept bangs are great for people who want to cover acne, wrinkles, or a large forehead. If you're first training your hair to lie to the side, then help control it with hairspray and barrettes. Once your bangs get used to lying over to the side, you won't need to use the clips anymore.

Once you start styling your hair this way, you're going to love it. It enhances your eyes, gives you a softer appearance, and really gives your hair a stylish finished looked.
