How to Get Your Skin Ready for Summer

5 Steps Before You Dare to Go Barer

Rosallee Scott
Summertime is all about letting the warmth of the sun bask your skin. Swimsuits, tank tops, sandals and shorts, are dug out of closets and donned once again. Learn how to get your skin ready for summer with these 5 easy beauty steps before you dare to go barer.

1. Exfoliate
Sugar scrubs and loofah pads become every woman's best friend during this time of year. Lather your whole body to rid it of dead cells and ashy winter leftovers. Do not forget your feet, which can become a woman's best accessory with the right nail polish, toe rings and sandals.

2. Moisturize
Leave the dryness behind by covering your body in a moisturizing lotion meant to soak in and stay there. No matter how oily your pores are, you need moisturizer to keep from getting unattractive flakiness. Many lotions also contain tints and/or sparkles that make your skin radiant and glowing.

3. Tan
Whether you sport a fake tan, which is healthier, or bask in the sun's rays; now is the time to get your base color on. A healthy glow can cover up flaws. But just because you are tan though, or look as if you are, does not mean you are protected from burning and damage.

4. Protect
Invest in a good sunblock. Buy one that protects from all of the damaging rays of the sun or all of your hard work of getting your skin ready for summer will be ruined with your first peeling burn. (Not to mention future wrinkles, liver spots or worse.)

5. Plan
Keep up this 5 step regime during all of the months of summer. You are never too young, nor too old, to start a Summer beauty routine. It allows you to keep daring to go barer and git the beach with confidence.
