How to Get to Sleep

First of all, you're going to want to keep your eyes shut. Sometimes you'll realize that you have your eyes open. When you realize this, just try to keep them shut.

Also you should try not to drink caffeine, drink alcohol, or smoke tobacco. This will keep you up for longer.

Try not to take naps during the day. Naps will make you less tired and then it will be harder for you to go to sleep. Also get up early, so you are more tired. That way it will make it easier for you to fall asleep.

Listen to some soft music, such as Beethoven. This will help you relax. You could also get a massage or a hot bath to help you relax as well.

Try drinking some herbal tea, such as Sleepytime® Tea. You can get this at your average grocery store. Any tea that is caffeine free will work. If it has caffeine then it will keep you up instead of helping you sleep.

Get some exercise during the day. This will make you more tired at night making it easier for you to fall asleep.

Here's an odd way to fall asleep. Imagine that it is time to wake up. When it's time to wake up you, always want to sleep in. Everybody knows the old way to get to sleep, counting sheep. This keeps you're mind busy, making it easier to fall asleep. You can pretty much do anything to keep your mind busy.

If you sleep on your back, you can fall asleep easier. This helps you relax and keeps all your vital organs clear. If you sleep on your stomach then you are laying on all of your vital organs making it harder for you to breath.

Sleep on a nice comfortable bed. This helps you relax, but you may only have one bed. That's okay, you just have to follow all the other tips.

Don't change your sleeping hours too much. Your body gets used to sleeping hours, and when you change it, it's not used to falling asleep at that time.

If none of these tips work, then it might be a serious problem. You should see a doctor if that happens. He might just tell you some tips that are already listed here, or if he finds it serious enough then he'll give you some prescriptions.
