Smart kids have a tendency to learn and discover any thing that looks suspicious and curious for them.

One such adventurous and fun filled story, where three children and their lovely looking dog helped police to unravel the mystery of a missing author. Three smart kids, who were busy in preparing for their final exams which is to be held in October. The smart kids lived in the suburbs of a metropolitan city, where there is lot of greenery and enough open space for them to play and have fun. Playing is very essential for children as food & education. Playing helps smart kids and super kids overall physical development as well as teaches them to cooperate and learn team work, sharing and this will be tremendous help in their future life.

The main actors in the story Raju, John and Jenny, aged 10 years, 13 years and 9 years respectively. Jenny being the youngest member in their gang is loved by all of them. She is cute looking, chubby cheeks and very fair just like a doll but when it comes to crisis, she can show her claws to the enemies. She is very brave and courageous for her age, studying in 3rd class with golden and long hair. Her hair is very silky, very soft and curly. She is darling of the team and also the team cook. Raju an Indian boy very courageous, brave, smart, very creative and with lot of positive attitude. He is also the team manager and initiator. He has great knack of arranging things for the team and with great efficiency. Very systematic, very hard working takes care of all the kid activities, like arranging games, snacks and other small items. Raju is well built and knows Karate and stick fighting. He also studies excellent in his class and always excel in class. So he is also made the class monitor. He has excellent communication skills and very humorous in nature. John the eldest in the gang is tall well built with blue eyes and dark hair. He is the team leader takes all responsibilities of the team. He is very logical in his approach to any problem he faces. All the gang members seek solutions from John and he comes with appropriate solution to any problem. He also manages the team finance very effectively. The fourth member we must not forget is Kitu the big fellow and the devil, a fine looking 3 years dog, the guardian and protector of the team. He loves eating and hunting rabbits where ever he saw it. He always pats his tongue and wages his big tail and growls against enemies who get scared on seeing him and don't usually like to come in his way.

The gang always meets in their secret place every evening and play different indoor games, read children story books, munch snacks and have fun. Their secret play house is on a big tree top near Raju's house. It is on a big and very old banyan tree, and the play house is totally covered all around by giant branches. They have a rope ladder kept very secretly and these smart kids climb every evening to do their kid activities. They call their tree house as "Den". In the den smart kids gang enjoy and spend most of the evening in it. Any emergency meeting they too have it in their den. Particularly on Sundays and holidays they would like to spent most of the time in their den with kid activities.

These smart kids with their pocket money buy+ cookies, chips, cold drinks and other kids adoring refreshments in their den. Their tree play house "Den" is very cool and well lighted. It is also well aerated and has sufficient space for the gang members including Kitu who is their most trusted companion. One of the gang members carries Kitu along with him while climbing the rope ladder. Kitu was very friendly to kids, but when faced by enemies its one growl would send shock in the spine of enemies. Kitu would gulp biscuits, cookies, meat ball, cakes and every thing it likes in one moment.

These smart kids stored various comics, short stories and jokes for children and with the spare money they made a small library in the tree house. This tree house was built by one of their favorite uncle who was a fine carpenter. He built it in such a way that five to six children can accommodate at any time and it can hold and protect them in all seasons even in severe rainy and winter. The tree house was tied by all sides by ropes and its base has been taken at the center part of the banyan tree.

Jenny being a girl takes care of the house keeping of the tree house, keeps tidy of the books, toys and she takes special care in cooking or arranging different things in the tree play house. She is the one who keeps every thing in proper place. She gives a feminine touch to the play house and to the team.

Christmas and Thanksgiving was fast approaching, and school winter vacation just started. The trio getting bored after the examination, wanted to move out of the town into woods and be with environment. So they called an emergency meeting that evening. Jenny brought hot cakes and biscuits which her mother prepared for winter vacation. Raju being an Indian brought Onion Pakoda and Singada wrapped in paper bags. John brought some cold drinks cans and chocolates for refreshments. Yes one thing John also brought was meat ball with plenty of meat and big bone for Kitu. At 5 o'clock in that evening they all met in the tree play house. John was first to come along with Kitu and it was very difficult for him to carry Kitu up to the play house. He said to Kitu " You are getting bigger and heavier, I have to reduce your food". As if Kitu understood, it waved his tail to and fro and gave a bark. After some time Raju came in his bicycle and climbed fast and enquired whether he was late. He also asked John why Jenny still didn't came. After a long gap Jenny's bicycle ringing sound was audible. Immediately Kitu became restless and stared giving welcome bark for her. John consoled him saying, "yes Jenny is coming and don't be excited". She banged her cycle against the tree and without wasting any time started climbing the rope ladder. Half way she gave a shout to others to help her in getting up. She was greeted by Kitu who was very happy to see her, started licking her face and hands. And jumped on her and started sniffing at her bag. Jenny said yes I have also brought some cakes for you too. She apologized for coming late. She started explaining that her mother asked her assistance in making the cakes and biscuits. Her distance aunty too arrived that afternoon along with her daughter, hence the delay. John calmed her " you are not too late and Raju too came a little while ago".

As usual John started the meeting by saying: "Friends schools have closed for winter vacation and we had enough studies for last one month and now have to go out some where and enjoy and spend time together. Do you have any good suggestion, where we can go and have lots of excitement? Far away from busy town and have a calm and quite resting place, where there will be nobody to disturb us. We can wakeup and have breakfast at our leisure. No studies, no bossing of parents".

After a thought Raju gave a suggestion " just few kilometers away there is a great place just as you have said John". "A small and quite fresh water lake, surrounded by woods. A very secured place, where very few people visit and there will not be much crowd to disturb us. But only one problem that we have to take our tents with us and cooking utensils. Well we have the world best cook Jenny, just kidding". By hearing this Jenny got slight frowned, but after few minutes came back to normal mood. So John the team leader for the smart kids decided that after two days, they are going to move in their bicycles. Boys will carry heavy luggage like tents, utensils. Jenny will carry food stuffs, fishing equipments, bedrolls etc. All was finalized, check list was prepared, who will bring what and who will arrange what?

John who is the team finance manager, arranged finance by selling waste and old papers of their locality. Jenny did some baby sitting and Raju who helped their neighbours in getting their cars cleaned and helped old ladies in purchase of groceries from local super market. The money they received was sufficient for the vacations. John purchased some meat balls, big bones for Kitu and some refreshments, lemonade and orange juices. Jenny prepared some home made bread and cakes with her mother's help. Raju brought some Indian dry snacks and their preparation was complete.

Journey for vacation
On the day of journey John started early in the morning and went to Raju's house and then to Jenny's house and the smart kids were ready to start their journey. The smart kids gang started by waving good bye to their parents. All dressed in vacation mood dress with caps and their luggage. It was quite cool in the morning and sun just was rising and they had no difficulty in traveling, everybody was in a jovial mood started singing and cycling comfortable and reached their destination in an hour. Kitu ran behind their bicycles some time lagging behind in search of rabbits.

The smart kids selected a place for their camp which was near the lake and surrounded by trees. They parked their bicycles and locked it, took out their tents and started making tents. Jenny went and brought fresh water from lake and meanwhile boys erected the tents and neatly arranged all the things. Now they were all set to have their breakfast. They spread the mattress took out plates, cakes, bread, meat, lemonade and of course bones with lot of meat for Kitu. They relished their breakfast when John said it is the time to have bath and some fishing in the lake. All changed in to bathing gear took their fishing rods, towels and chappals and statred walking towards the lake. Quickly jumped into the water which was cold and had bath as well as swimming in the lake. After some time came out sat on the banks and started drying. John and Raju took the fishing rods and started fishing, meanwhile Jenny took the wet cloths and hanged them on nearby bushes. Kitu was still searching for rabbits, sniffing near by burroughs possibly for rabbits. The kid's activities went on for some time and Jenny after drying hair and combing went to see what is the position of boys who were fishing luck seems to be with boys who caught two big fishes. After that all set back to their camp with dry cloths, towels and fishes on the boys shoulders.

Meanwhile Kitu came back bit dejected for not able to find any rabbits, seeing Kitu's mood Jenny comforted him by saying that tomorrow he will able to get rabbits. They took the fishes put it on fire by bringing some dry twigs and roasted the fishes. Had their lunch, any tit bits fallen on floor was immediately gulped by Kitu. They were exhausted and soon fell asleep in the noon. In the evening they woke up very late and leisurely moved around the lake, discussing how they are going to spend in this vacation. In the supper time, they had some cakes and hot coffee and danced around the camp fire, which the trio built by lighting some twigs and some small dry branches of trees that had fallen. Each one told variety of stories; they too had a singing competition, where Kitu too participated. This went on and till Jenny the youngest member could not keep her eyes open. So they decided to sleep in their tents by saying good night to each other, yes not before they had a small prayer to God. The first day of smart kids went very smoothly. The super kid's tents were guarded by Kitu, who kept his ears moving like radar. Any small sound he would wake up and watch.

The super kids woke up next day very late as there were no studies and no one to wake them up. Raju was first to wake up and he made other two smart kids to get out of their tents. After bath in the lake and breakfast these super kids decided to explore the woods. They set out by foot moving here and there, climbing trees, kicking twigs stones on their way. When they could not walk any more they returned back to the camp area. Jenny made some hot soup with the meat and they all had their lunch with bread and soup. Kitu had some of the meat and bread. But his appetite did not end there; he also enjoyed the bits of food that had fallen while the smart kids had lunch.

Arrival of Visitor
While these super kids were having nap, they suddenly woke up by the barking sound of Kitu. They saw a big van parked little distance from their camp. A tall, bulky and bladed gentle man with great difficulty was trying to erect his tent. The super kids immediately set out to help him in erecting his tent. They first introduced themselves and later the bulky gentle man said that his name was David and he is a writer and author. He has written different stories including children stories. After they erected his tent, they had hot coffee prepared by David with Jenny's assistance. Latter in the evening they in turn invited David to their camp. They had big camp fire discussed many things and had supper with hot soup, cakes and bread. After that David left to his camp by bidding good night to all.

Next day they all woke up early and saw David sitting on his chair and make shift table and typing. They went to his tent and greeted him morning and invited him to come with them to lake for bath and fishing. He said that he is busy writing plot of the story, he will meet the super kids and Kitu in a short while. The smart kids wanted to know what he was writing he said that he was writing a murder mystery, which is based on real life story. Without getting disturbed he has come to this place to write the story peacefully.

The super kids and the wonder dog Kitu ran towards the lake after taking their bathing gear and towels and fishing rods. They took bath swam full length of the lake and came back, John came first and Kitu came next. They had lots of fun and played some water games and then dried and Jenny went and put the wet towels and changed herself into neat and dry cloths. Meanwhile John and Raju sat on the edge of lake with their fishing gear and fishing rods, waited pertinently for fish to come to their bait. At that moment David came in his swimming costume and asked excuses for coming so late to the lake. The smart kids said that they just finished their bath and are trying to catch fishes. Suddenly John shouted that he had caught and big fish. It was really a big fish that could be sufficient of all of them including David and Kitu.

David finished his bath and sat with the smart kids after changing his dress. He was a great human being and had lots to share with children. He told them different stories and children stories he had written. He is in fact middle of a story which is very dangerous plot. Which will assists to unmask some of the important persons. The details of which he can't reveal to children. So by saying this he stood and went towards his camp.

The abduction of David
Meanwhile super kids were busy in preparing and roasting the fish and were waiting for David to arrive. But after one hour also he didn't turn up, so Jenny went to David's camp to call him for lunch, but what she saw there bewildered her, and she ran back as fast she could. Seeing her coming running John and Raju were worried and they asked at a time to her the reason of her panic has she seen a devil? After some minutes, she regrouped her self and narrated the whole situation. Immediately the trio set out to David's camp.

In David's camp they saw his tent uprooted, all his books and paper were thrown and scattered. His typewritter was broken; his chair was thrown other side the camp. His spects were broken and crushed. Whole camp seemed to be hit by hurricane, as if devil himself has broken loose. David was no where seen, they called him, but no trace of him. The smart kids searched near by the camp, but found no clue. They all sat dumb folded without any idea.

Then John the eldest among the trio said that first let them have quick lunch and then go into the woods to search for David. While having their lunch Raju got a brilliant idea, he said "why don't we take Kitu's help? He is good in sniffing things". Quickly after the lunch they took kitu to David's camp and let him sniff at David's dress and let Kitu go. At once kitu was on his job of sniffing at David's scent. Kitu ran as fast as he would and came to the spot where there was an old hunter cabin. Four strange looking men were guarding the cabin. Smoke was coming out of the chimney. It was a strange cabin.

Smart kids watched the cabin from distance by hiding behind bushes. For some time nothing seem to happen, Kitu was getting impatient. A car came and halted near the cabin and a dangerous looking man came out and went inside the cabin. Meanwhile the guards were busy smoking and drinking alcohol. There was no trace of David's where about. After quite a while the dangerous man who seemed to be the boss came out gave some instruction to the guards and went away in his car.

Now the super kids had no idea what they should do next. They came back to the camp and decided to move to the town for getting police help. They took their bicycles and rode as fast as they could along with Kitu. On reaching the police station, they met the inspector and narrated the whole story to him. He understood the situation and advised the smart kids to return back and keep a strict vigil on the hunter's cabin. The smart kids returned with grim faces and watched the cabin from distance. In the late evening when the sun was just setting they heard the inspector well built and strong police man and his team came near them. They watched the situation and decided to go into the cabin after getting dark so that the enemies will be off guarded and will be taken in surprise.

Slowly it was getting dark & the inspector gave a nod to his team members who took the advantage of darkness went near the cabin. But to their bad luck one of the guards saw them raised alarm and other too came to the spot and they had fight with fists. Kitu couldn't keep to himself and ran towards the guards and stared growling. Seeing kitu's teeth the guards lost the courage and started running away. Kitu, John and Raju too ran towards some of the guards and over came them. Police too caught rest of the gang. Meanwhile Jenny swiftly went inside the cabin and saw David tied by ropes to a chair and he was gagged. Jenny searched for some sharp objects. She found a knife at one corner of the cabin and slowly started cutting the rope, while men outside were fighting. After some time she could manage to cut the ropes and set the missing author free from the clutches of his captors.

Soon the gang was nabbed and hand cuffed, and put in police jeep which was kept at a distance. David thanked the police for having come in time and rescued him. Inspector told David not to thank him but instead thank the super kids and Kitu for their heroic and timely action.

David, inspector and the super kids and kitu came towards their camp and Jenny with the help of Raju prepared coffee. Inspector enquired how such bizarre incident took place. David narrated the whole incident to him that he was writing a murder mystery story which could uncover some of the important persons faces who were involved in the case. They wanted him to stop writing the book or threatened him to life.

Inspector was surprised to see Jenny and exclaimed how did such a small girl rescued David. Jenny growled and said "Grrrrrrrr", Raju said "see our little tigress is showing her claws" they all laughed.

David went towards the police jeep to say good bye to the inspector.

After he returned to the smart kid's camp, he said that he was really hungry and Kitu too barked and they all eat their dinner and enjoyed that evening with David. Next day David set back to his home, while smart kids stayed for few more days and returned to their home. They were happy to solve and rescue the missing author.
