How to Get Smooth and Silky Legs

BS
Smooth and silky legs are great to have, especially in the summertime. Summer and spring provide perfect days for shorts, skirts, swimsuits and capri pants, but if you have dry and or ashy legs, you may not feel comfortable showing them off. Sure, lotion can help, but a lot of time that's not enough. You can go to the spa and have all the treatments done to your legs, but if you have a tendency to get dry legs, there is a good chance that you will have to be a frequent visitor of the spa to keep your legs looking great. Luckily, getting smooth and silky legs is very easy, you can even use things that are already in your house.

When taking a bath or shower, never use water that is very hot. Hot water can actually make the skin all over your body very dry, and that includes the skin on your legs. Warm water is always best, it opens up your pores and will make getting smooth and silky legs a lot easier.

Exfoliating is the key to getting smooth and silky legs. Exfoliating is a way to remove all the dead skin cells from your legs which are the most common reason why your legs can appear dry or ashy. There are many different ways to exfoliate the skin on your legs. You can purchase special cream made especially to give you smooth legs and a loofah to do your exfoliating. The problem with that is that it can get to be expensive, depending on the brand of exfoliating cream you purchase.

If you want smooth legs but don't want to spend a lot of money, you can use sugar. It may seem strange, but sugar is actually a great exfoliating tool. Before you use the sugar, make sure that you have showered, bathed, or at least ran your legs under some warm water to make sure those pores are open. Apply the sugar to your legs and rub it in to your skin.

When it comes to time to rinse either the sugar or the exfoliating cream off, use cold water. This may not seem very pleasant, but it does close your pores.

When it comes to shaving, make sure that you always use either shaving cream or hair conditioner. If you use shaving cream, make sure that you get one especially for women, because these will have special ingredients in them to moisturize your legs and make them look smooth and shiny. Shaving without anything on your legs, will definitely make your legs look dry. It is always best to exfoliate before you shave, but not everyone has time to do that every time they shave their legs. Using shaving cream or hair conditioner will also reduce the risk of getting razor burn and cuts, which will ruin the smooth look of your legs.

Make sure to moisturize. After you have exfoliated and shaved, apply some lotion to your skin. If you have extra dry skin, there are lotions made especially to help get rid of this, which will help get your legs to that smooth look. Rub the lotion in completely into your legs, and this should give you very smooth and shiny legs. After all that, you're ready to show off your great legs.

Evidently, once you pass menopause, you no longer have to shave your legs! They get naturally smooth and hairless! I used to think it was because I wore pantyhose for so many years every day, but the doc says no. So I really don't need this piece! :)
