How to Use Solar Magick

Solar magick would be described as any magick that involves the use of the sun. This usually means laying objects out in the sun, using objects to capture the energy or essence of the sun, working with the position of the sun in the sky and a various other methods. Solar magick isn't normally mentioned when magick is discussed but its still very important. Below you'll find some ways to incorporate solar magick into your own life.

If you have a new piece of jewelry or even clothing you can lay it out in the sun. Say a small prayer over the item such as "let the sun's energy penetrate this ___ (shirt, necklace, ring) to charge it with ___ (protection, luck, healing) energies". Leave it outside for a couple of hours in full sun. When you pick it up feel its warmth and hold it close to your heart. Your item now is charged and the sun's warm energy has intertwined with the objects natural energy making it more powerful. You can do this with all of your jewelry and its one of the best ways to charge something.

If you are not familiar with magick "to charge" means to send energy into an object for a specific purpose. For instance, you might charge a pillow so that you will have prophetic dreams during the night. The charging of objects is extremely important when working with magick. The sun is easiest way to charge just about anything you can think of. The moon can also be used as well and this would be called Lunar magick.

After you've charged an object you will need to re-charge it every once in a while. The charge will not last forever. You can tell when this needs to be done just by holding the object in your hands. If you sense its low on energy then charge it once again. I charge my jewelry about every six months. The pieces I wear more frequently get charged once every couple of months.

Performing any magick outside in the sun will help add energy to your spell. I have that if you work magick in the morning then the sun will contribute to spells that require attraction or drawing something to you. If you work magick around the time the sun is going down the sun will help you to banish, erase or push anything away from you.
