The first step to making homemade pancakes is getting the ingredients. We can easily buy a box of pancake mix and save ourselves this hassle of making it ourselves. Making something yourself though than instead of from a box will make you feel better inside. So let's get the ingredients that we need to make our homemade pancakes. We will need unsalted or salted butter, all-purpose flour, milk, eggs, lime skin, flavored extracts, vegetable shortening, salt and sugar. Pancakes do not take many ingredients to make so this is not a hard task at all.
The next step to making homemade pancakes is how much of the ingredients will be needed. First of you will need about six table spoons of butter for this mixture. Then you will want to get about one cup of flour, and a half cup of sugar. You will then need about a cup and half of milk for this mixture. The next ingredient needed is two eggs for this mixture. Then you will need about a teaspoon of extracts that you have such as vanilla or almond. You will then need two tablespoons of vegetable shortening, lime skin, and a teaspoon of salt. These are the amounts of the ingredients you will need for your pancake mixture.
You will want to first get a bowl to put your ingredients in. First you will want to put two tablespoons of butter in your bowl and the sugar. You will then want to break the eggs in a separate bowl and mix with the lime skin until fluffy. You can then remove the lime skin and pour the eggs in the bowl. Now you will want to mix the eggs together with the sugar and butter. When this is mixed up you can now add your milk, extracts and salt. Now you will sift your flour into the mixture and add the shortening, Now you will mix everything together until it becomes a soft, creamy batter.
The final step to making homemade pancakes is to make them. The next step you will do is to heat up your pan. You will add the rest of the butter as needed so that your pancakes can fry perfectly. When the butter starts sizzling on your stove top then it's time to cook the pancakes. You will want to pour about half a cup of mixture into the pan. Depending on the size of your pan you may want to add a little more mixture. Make sure your entire pan is covered with the batter before you start cooking. Once the mixture forms you will want to give it about a minute to two minutes or until brown. Then you will want to turn your mixture with a spatula so the other side can brown also. You will repeat this process until all of your mixture is done. This usually will make about ten to twelve pancakes. Now just add your favorite syrup, fruits, and breakfast meats and enjoy.
Pancakes are one of the most popular breakfast meals on earth. Pancakes can be made from a box, from scratch, or even prepared at a restaurant for you. If you enjoy pancakes and want a fun breakfast meal to make for you and your family just try this one. This is even a meal that you can make with the kids which will be lots of fun. So give yourself a pat on the back because you just brought breakfast back alive.
