How to Use Sothink Web Video Downloader to Download Videos
A Guide to Capture and Download Videos Using SoThink Video Downloader
1. Download and install the Sothink Web Video Downloader for Firefox. To do this, open your Firefox web browser and go to www.web-video-downloader.com.
2. Once you have accessed the website, click the link that says "Free Download." After clicking this link, you should see a pop-up window. Click Install Now to begin the installation process.
3. The downloaded file will appear as an unsigned program. Ignore this warning. The program poses no threat.
NOTE: If you used a web browser other than Mozilla, such as Internet Explorer, to download the Sothink Web Video Downloader, you will need to save the web-video-downloader.xpi file. After saving, you will need to open Firefox and drag the file to your web browser.
4. Before being able to use the video downloader, you must restart your Firefox web browser. To do this, simply click Restart Firefox.
5. You are now ready to download live videos. You should see the Sothink Web Video Downloader icon on the toolbar. You will be able to see how many videos have been captured, but not yet downloaded. You can right-click this icon to see more information.
6. To download a video, simply open the video page and the add-on will capture the video automatically. The utility will then ask you whether or not you want to download the program. If you click OK, the captured video will begin to download.
7. You can sort through and organize downloaded videos by clicking on the Tools button located near the top of the screen. After that, select Web Video Downloader for Firefox on the dropdown menu that appears. This will open the file manage window. Your downloaded videos are organized in different folders.
8. You can also capture SWF, or flash, files with Sothink. To do this, click the Tools button and select Sothink SWF Catcher on the dropdown menu that appears. A sidebar will appear where you can capture SWF files. You should see a list of SWF files on the page you are currently on. Simply select on a file to download it.
