For this spaghetti recipe you will need a large microwaveable bowl, spaghetti noodles, a jar of pasta or spaghetti sauce, salt, a strainer and a microwave oven.
In a large microwaveable bowl, add three to four cups water. The exact amount of water will depend on the number of servings of pasta you are planning on making. You want the water to be able to cover the noodles.
Heat the water in the microwave oven for one minute. Add a dash of salt to the water.
Next you will add the spaghetti noodles to the hot water. I recommend using a spaghetti-measuring gadget so you know how many servings of spaghetti to add. If necessary, break the noodles in half to get them all into the bowl and covered with water. Noodles outside of the water may not cook properly.
The exact time to cook the noodles depends on the wattage of your microwave oven, the amount of noodles you are cooking and your own preference for how soft you like your noodles. Set your microwave for ten to twelve minutes on high. Stir the noodles every minute or so, and check the noodles once you get closer to ten minutes. Continue adding additional minutes on to the cooking time until your noodles are cooked to your liking.
Remove the spaghetti noodles from the microwave oven and drain the noodles in a strainer. Rinse the pasta with warm water to prevent the noodles from getting sticky.
Open the jar of pasta or spaghetti sauce and measure out approximately ½ cup of sauce for every serving of spaghetti noodles. Put the spaghetti sauce into the large bowl and heat for approximately 30 seconds. Stir the sauce.
Add the noodles back into the bowl and mix together with the spaghetti sauce. If the spaghetti noodles have cooled off, put the bowl back into the microwave oven and heat for an additional 30 seconds or until hot.
If you would like meatballs in your spaghetti, purchase microwaveable meatballs and heat the meatballs while the spaghetti noodles are being drained.
Mix together and enjoy!
