How to Make Special Ringtones for a Tracfone

Laurel Moore
Most mobile phones offered by Tracfone are capable of playing MP3 and WAV files. You can make cool ringtones out of those music files. The ringtones are used to replace the standard ringers you hear when you receive a call or a text message. Ringtone-maker websites offer software that is used to convert music files into a ringtone. The ringtones are downloaded on a Tracfone and used instead of the pre-loaded ringers.

Step 1

Access a ringtone-maker website such as Ventones or Phonezoo. You may need to register for an account.

Step 2

Click on the option in the top or side menu to create your own cool ringtone. The option may be labeled as "Create Ringtone" or "Make Ringtone."

Step 3

Upload an MP3 or WAV file to the website. Select a cool song from your favorite artist to make a ringtone for your Tracfone. Click "Upload" or "Browse" to select the music file. Wait for the file to upload.

Step 4

Edit the music file to select the part for your ringtone. Depending on the site, you may need to drag a bar or lines over the beginning and end of the ringtone on the song's timeline.

Step 5

Enter additional information about the ringtone including the artist's name and song title. Most sites allow you to add cool effects such as a fade or echo. You can also choose to stretch out a tone or speed it up. You will need to select the effects you want to use by either checking them off or clicking the effect's radio button. Click "Create Tone" or "Make Ringtone."

Step 6

Click the option to send the ringtone to your Tracfone. Enter your 10-digit Tracfone number if prompted. A text message containing a download link will be sent to your phone.

Step 7

Open the text message and click "Download" or "Save." The ringtone will be saved on your Tracfone.
