Go to the wrench icon in the Farm Town game, and untick "Smooth Graphics", "Follow Avatar While Walking", "Freeze Animals", and "wait for Each Plow/Plant". Just doing that if you haven't already you will notice a HUGE jump in speed in Farm Town.
Another thing to take care of is, turn the sound off in Farm Town! Just as windows default sounds slows down a computer, so does the sounds in the game, they do after all need to be downloaded. You can turn the sound off by clicking the icon that is right beside the wrench and looks like a speaker.
Next thing is, don't use Internet Explorer, and use FireFox. There is a huge difference between the two browsers.
After harvesting trees, restart Farm Town, after planting, restart Farm Town, after filling up your factories with work, and collecting it all, restart Farm Town. For some reason these tasks slow down the whole game, and starting anew will make it load faster. So basically after each task, you save, close the game, and start it all over again.
When going to sell your stuff at the market, be sure you are offline, and be sure to change over to "Non-Ingredients" as soon as possible. This will make the items load faster, as you will only have items you can sell listed, and not everything in your storage. Also when selling items in the market place in Farm Town, scroll to the bottom of the list, this makes it sell faster. Be sure you are offline when you go to sell your goods.
Click on the save button from time to time, this will help force it to save, and thus stop lagging.
Turn off your virus protection, and firewall, now I know you should be concerned as Farm Town ads do have viruses. This is why I suggested Firefox, it will block the ads if you download ad blocker plus, and no script. This will speed up Farm Town because you won't see those ads, and they won't be loading over, and over while you are playing.
Watch the status bar of your browser, it will tell you "Transferring data from .." if you see "Waiting for.." you know it's not going to do anything.
Play offline, don't connect unless you have to hire a person to harvest, or plow. This too makes things load faster because you don't have people popping in your farm, as well as the popups of avatars wanting you to water their flowers etc.
Recently added is the hide decorations, this too will speed up the loading of the farm, planting, and plowing. Be sure if you are going to work for someone, you have that marked to hide them.
