Baltimore is a large city with a small town atmosphere that provides charm, nightlife, sports, museums, and an inner harbor that it is breathtaking. While staying in Baltimore City, you definitely have to take a stroll along the Inner Harbor promenade. In the morning enjoy a ride in the paddle boats and be sure to take pictures of Aquarium and the USS Constellation. After your paddle boat ride, visit the Baltimore National Aquarium, set aside time to see the dolphin show, and the Australian exhibits, the admission fee is moderate and well worth the money. The tour of the Aquarium normally lasts around two hours which still affords you time to see other sites all within walking distance from your hotel. Or you can take the water taxi across the harbor and visit the IMAX and the Maryland Science Center.
Later in the afternoon stop by the Phillips Seafood, it's located in the Shops at Inner Harbor for some of the best crab cakes Maryland has to offer. Take time to do some shopping and be sure to catch the "Fudge Guys" prepare and entertain you as they make the candy of the day.
After lunch walk down to the Sports Legends Museum and get a glimpse history of the Babe, Johnny Unitas, Brooks Robinson and the Iron Man himself, Cal Ripken Jr., take a tour and receive a $1.00 discount to the Oriole game. You will love Oriole Park at Camden Yards; every seat in the stadium provides a great view of the game. Stop by the concessions stands prior to entering the stadium and pick up a "dog" and "coke" for a buck each, take them into the stadium with you and save some money.
After the game, walk back across the promenade toward your hotel; visit the Cheesecake Factory or the ESPN zone for late night fare. Or if you are in the mood for some ghostly entertainment, go to Fells Point and take the Fell's Point Ghost tour, picture Fell's Point as it was the turn of the century, with its streets full of sailors and immigrants looking for a better life, the old cobble stone streets, the sea breeze and the pubs all lend to the mood of mystery and haunted atmosphere. We may be thought of as a suburb of the Washington, DC area, but we are so much more than a small town. Everything is alive and vibrant and I am sure that you will have a great time. Enjoy your stay in Baltimore and be sure to come back again.
