Memphis may not be the city that never sleeps, but it sure does know how to stay up late. If you ever come to visit this fair city I'm sure you will be able to find plenty to do. Everyday life in Memphis can get really hectic, but if you know how to handle it you can have yourself a fun, fulfilling day. But when the sun goes down, and the lights turn on, that's when Memphis really starts to party. For now I'll stick to some of the lesser-known places to have a good night on the town.

First of all, if you plan to be able to keep up with the crowd, you better put some food in your stomach. Here are a few places to get a good meal and still leave you enough money to party all night. Dish, located at Cooper and Young, offers you a wide range of eclectic Mediterranean dishes, and a nice selection of wines. They also have live music many nights. Huey's on Madison is a good stop for some straight up American meals, and Memphis music. If Mexican is your thing, then Café Ole! is by far the place to go. They offer up the best in Mexican cuisine, and don't forget to try the salsa. Boscos Squared, at Overton Square is the restaurant to visit if you love beer and fresh grilled foods; they even have a nice vegetarian selection.

That's enough about food for now Lets get on to some more fun. Head back out to the Cooper-Young district and dance a jig at Celtic Crossing, an Irish pub done Memphis style. There you can find a wide selection of import beer and a fully stocked bar. They have live music many night of the week, and also have a live DJ on the weekends. Believe me, this place can get crazy! Now, if you crave some live music, head over to the Young Avenue Deli. Hear you can listen to some of the very best local, and national acts.

Now, if this is your first visit to Memphis, I'm sure you will be tempted to take a stroll down historic Beale Street. Beale Street is famous for it's bar's that pour out all of the best in Memphis blues music. From B.B. Kings and the Hard Rock Café, to Alfred's and The Blues Hall, I'm sure you will get your fill of the blues. But if you like to stay up late and party hard, the head over to Club 152. This massive bar boasts three floors, each with bars, and is the spot to be on any Memphis weekend. Here you can get your fill of techno, house, hip-hop, and live rock. Each floor has plenty of dance room, and if you've got enough cash you can even rent a private party room.

Well, I think that's enough to keep you busy during your visit to Memphis, at least for a bit. As you can see, it can be quite difficult to get bored in the home of the blues, the great city of Memphis, TN.
