Spider and Web
For this Halloween craft you will need black yarn, white yarn, scissors, glue, black pipe cleaners, and wiggly eyes. Start by cutting several long pieces of white yarn. Tie them to the place in your home that you would like the spider web to hang. When tying the yarn you may need to use thumbtacks. Start by tying the long lengths of yarn into a cross. Then add more pieces to make a star shape. Then the yarn is completely secure on the wall you can start to create the webbed detail.
Start this by tying the end of the white yarn to the center cross of the yarn. Then stretch the yarn across to the next line in the star shape. Wrap it around this part in a tight knot, and continue to the next branch in the star. Move around the star in a spiral until you have reached the outside edge of the star and your web is complete. Tie the end of the yarn to secure it again.
Now make your spider by tying some yarn into a knot. Wrap the yarn around the knot to make a ball. Make a medium and a small sized ball for the spider body. Remember to add glue to the ends of the yarn to secure the ball together. Then glue the balls together to make a spider body. Add pipe cleaner pieces to the body for legs. Bend each leg slightly to make joints. When adding the pipe cleaners it is a good idea to ad glue to the end of the wire and push it slightly into the ball.
Then glue the wiggly eyes onto the spider to finish it. Allow the glue to dry completely before attaching the spider to the web. The spider is can be attached using the legs, tape, or a safety pin. This craft is also a great decoration that can be used for years to come. Try creating this spider and web for Halloween and you will be glad you used yarn for this inexpensive Halloween craft.
