How to Make Your Spiritual Life Better

Mostly All Religions Are Concerned with Your Spiritual Life!

Matthew Schieltz

Protestants, Catholics, Mormons, Baptists, Jews, Muslims, and virtually every monotheistic religion in the world all have one fundamental principle in common: they all believe in a higher being that is in control of the universe. Whether it's Jesus Christ, Allah, Mohammed, or another supreme being that one believes in, each of these religions is devoted to worshipping and praising the one that they call their savior. And because they praise one Supreme Being as their savior, devoting time to that Supreme Being is of utmost importance. However, many people find themselves drifting in and out of the religious cycle; they sometimes are on fire for their god and other times they are lukewarm and have trouble staying devoted.

There are many things that one can do, though, on a regular basis to get their spiritual life back on track. The Bible actually contains a verse that says that you either have to be on fire for God or not at all; being "lukewarm," as the Bible puts it, is not good and you won't get anywhere. Several of the things that you can do throughout the day all pertain to making time for your god to have that special time devoted to him.

1. Isolate Yourself in Silence

By isolating yourself quietly throughout the day- at least once- you have time to pray and honor the god that you worship. This can prove to be difficult, but if you make a resolve to do this, your spiritual life will greatly improve. You will begin to see your life changing right before your eyes and your relationship be made stronger with your religion and your god! This isolation can involve visiting a chapel and praying, meditating in silence in your car or another private space, or just sitting in nature surrounded by the world that God made.

2. Wake Up with Praise

Certainly you believe that a supreme being created life. Since he creates life, he also is responsible for creating you, right? Waking up each morning and giving him thanks and praise because you have entered a new day is equally important as thanking him before you turn out the lights each night for getting you through the day.

3. Practice your Religion Daily

Many people often say, "Practice what you preach," and that definitely is a life lesson for those who are devoted to their religion. By practicing the tenets and beliefs of your religion each day, you will not only get closer to your religion and faith, but you will also get closer to god throughout your daily life. This is a good way to spice up your spiritual life!

There will always be more things that one can do to increase their spiritual life; these are only a few of the ways that one can stay connected with their religion by having a closer, private, and more mature spiritual life! The closer your relationship is to your god, the much better off you will be all throughout life!
