How to Spot a Fake Psychic Reading

Know when to Walk Out

Ann-Marie Walker
I have had several psychic readings in my life time. Many of them have been a great experience for me, while others were not. The following information should help you spot a fake psychic. If you encounter any of these scenarios, I would suggest getting up and walking out.

Keep Your Money

First and foremost never give a psychic additional money when your receiving a psychic reading. I have had this scenario happen to me several times. The psychic tells me I have a curse that needs to be removed. The psychic then explains the only way to get rid of my curse, is to pay her or him more money to say prayers, light a candle or perform some ritual. I have actually experienced a psychic reading where the so called psychic told me " your life will be ruined if you do not do this." Any good psychic who recognizes a negative situation, will advise you on choices you can make, to produce a positive outcome. They will not refer to your negative situation as a curse. They will never tell you the only way to get away from it is to pay more money. If your reading takes this direction, I would suggest getting up and walking out.

You Need to Come Back Again and Again

This is similar to asking for money to remove a curse. This time the psychic advises you that your reading can not be performed in just one sitting. It will take several sittings to help you. The psychic may suggest that the negativity that faces you, needs to be monitored. They need to see you several times a month to help you overcome your situation. Rest assured you will be paying each time you see this psychic. Any good psychic will tell you that you need to take time between readings. It is best to space them out. Allow time to pass and circumstances to change. If your going to legitimate psychics every other day, the answers you receive will be the same or very similar. Psychic readings clue you in to what you should know, and make you aware of choices. Seeing different psychics constantly, is not going to change the information you get, or change it to something you want to hear.

Questioning You Over and Over

There are times when a psychic may ask you a question or two during a reading. Answering a few questions enables the psychic to know, that they are correctly interpreting what they are seeing. The questioning is more like a conformation, then an actual question itself. Those type of questions are okay to answer. If the psychic doing the reading starts to play twenty questions with you, it might be a sign that they are not exactly psychic. After receiving your answers, the psychic will elaborate according to your respones. If your not paying close attention, you might think that psychic is wonderful and how did they know all that. The truth is, you just told them everything. You gave them the answers. For example, the psychic asks, " You are happy in your marriage?" Your response, "No". The next question, " So you are not exactly happy, and wondering about your marriage?" You answer yes. Now the psychic has a wide open door to elaborate on. They will repeat your answer as if they are reading you. The psychic may say, " Okay I see you are not happy in your marriage." " You are wondering about your marriage and if you will ever be happy." " You and your spouse do not have a good relationship." The psychic will continue this line of questioning and elaborating according to your answers. It may seem as if the psychic is right on target. The truth is, they are only repeating what you just told them. Be careful, this is an easy situation to get sucked into without even realizing it.

Reading You According to Your Appearance

Fake psychics will actually read you according to your appearance, or even by what car you are driving. Watch for signs that your reading is being conduction by your presentation. For example: This is a true story. My reading began with the psychic telling me that I was interested in the paranormal. I wanted to know more about life than what I could see. I have even ventured into trying to find answers about the after life. Sounds like a good reading, if I would not have had a shirt on that read, " Ghost Trackers" and referenced I belonged to a group that did paranormal research. When I walked in with my keys, she suggested I sit them on the table in front of us. I laid my keys on the table. The next information she gave went like this, " You believe in angels." "You know you have guardian angels that protect you." "You are very aware of them surrounding you." " You are comforted in the fact that they protect you." Sounds great doesn't it? Especially since I do believe all of that. I would have been amazed if it was not for the fact I have a huge guardian angel emblem on my key chain. If even has a prayer on it for protection. The psychic was actually reading cues from my keys. She also went on to explain I had children I was close to. They were possibly my own children she was seeing. She explained that they are special to me. Well guess what, I have a photo hanging from my key ring too. It is a photo of my children. She even went on to take cues from the rings I was wearing. I wore wedding rings and she referenced she knew I was married. I also have an anniversary band, which usually symbolizes you have been married awhile and not newly weds. She picked up on that too. If you find that the psychic is only reading things that anyone would guess by looking at you, you can rest assured the psychic is fake. They are actually reading you according to your appearance.

Asking for more money, suggesting several readings together, questioning you constantly, and reading you according to your appearance, are signs to watch out for when you receive your psychic reading. If you find yourself in any of these situations, my best advice is to get up and walk out.

This is great and honest. There are good psychics and bad ones. It is unfortunate that the bad ones give the good ones a bad name.
