How to Make a Star Trek Phaser

Clark Kent: Household How-To's
Space....the final frontier, well more like your back yard or a movie set but hey this how-to will be a fun one for those who fell in love with remote controls, with lasers, bad acting, and alien hippies.

Step One:

Purchase an old toy Star Trek phaser from a vintage shop. You're also going to need a PS3 laser assembly. Take the phaser and remove the light bulb inside. You're also going to need to remove the blu-ray diode from the PS3 laser assembly.

Step Two:
After removing the diode solder two wires to it and install a laser housing. Make the necessary adjustments for the laser housing so it can fit inside the bracket that once housed the light bulb you removed from the phaser. If you have an ohm resistor, a 9 volt battery, a battery snap, and a switch that will replace the phaser trigger.

Step Three:
Connect the 9 volt battery to the wires connected to the blu-ray diode. Connect the resistor and the snap to the appropriate connections after doing so.

Then fit put the battery in the part of the phaser that houses the double A batteries. After that fit the wiring and the diode inside the phaser.

Step Four:
After fitting everything inside the phaser close it up and test. If done correctly you should see a blue light coming from the laser. Now remember this can be used for low budget science fiction movies but also keep in mind that lasers are dangerous so don't point this at another person's eyes because it could blind them or at least seriously damage their eyes. Furthermore, do not let children under 15 construct this project.

I hope you enjoyed this how-to and I look forward to the next one.
