The second component, SEO, stands for search engine optimization. There is a lot of differing opinions about SEO, but it boils down to one thing. Is the entry searchable on a major search engine? When you're blogging for cash, you have to balance your keywords properly, and then plan to add links within your content that shows the search engine "crawling" your content that it's relevant.

You might add links to a professional beading society or to a very popular beading store's website. You don't want to overdo it, though. If the search engine determines that your keywording is above 4% or that your entire post is nothing but links to outside sites, you are likely to be penalized, and your blog could end up on the very last page of the search results.

Advertising for your Blog

Once your blog is set up, the final step in blogging for cash is to add advertisements to your site. On Blogger and Wordpress, there are specific instructions for how to do this. You will have to set up external accounts through the advertisers, but this is not a difficult task to accomplish. Two of the biggest you can use are Google's Adwords and Amazon Associates, though these are far from the only sites that can be used.

With a few posts published on your blog, go ahead and set up your advertising accounts. Your blog will then be checked to make certain that it meets certain parameters of the advertiser's terms of service. In most cases, blogs that are sexually explicit will not be able to advertise with Adwords or Amazon's associates. Likewise with any copyright-infringing material or material that shows people how to break laws.

Once the advertising is set up, make sure that you post to your blog at least once per day. One of the most important aspects of blogging for cash is to maintain a regular readership. Returning readers are those who may subscribe to RSS feeds to be told whenever you post something new on your blog. You might be surprised.

Many of the most popular blogs are niche blogs that cater to a specific types of people. If your interest is in beads, then you might consider a blog focusing on lamp work beads. This specialization helps ensure that your blog is placed near the top of search results with regularity. More common searches will usually only lead searchers to the newest, most relevant content, or the content that paid the search engine for top placement.

As long as you are posting regularly and build a fan base, your blog could have unlimited earning potential.
