How to Start Bringing Lunch to Work from Home

One of the New Years Resolutions a friend of mine wants to make is to take more lunches to work with her so she eats less fast food or vending machine food. To help, I came up with a few ideas to help her stick with the idea and not get too bored with the food.

1. Pack lunch the night before so you don't run around the house in the morning throwing it together at the last minute or forget, since the snooze alarm is so useful sometimes but can make us late.

2. Pack food you like not just want you should eat. I know to help with diets or other such things, people will pack foods on their list of things they should eat but find something you enjoy eating.

3. Don't just stick with microwavable meals or sandwiches, those get boring after a few weeks. They are simple to do and something for a nice staple but after awhile when you open the lunch it is another sandwich which makes it easier to head to the vending machine or fast food.

4. Make sure that you go out sometimes for lunch still while you are getting in the habit of bringing lunch to work.

5. Have some snacks in the lunch as well that cane be eaten during the day will also help keep you away from the vending machine when the munchies hit.

6. Leftovers make a fine meal the next day.

7. Save some of the money that you are saving by bring food from home for something special that you would not normally get. It helps encourage people to stick with the bringing the lunch from home if there is a goal attached.

8. Remember slip up happens but keep with it while you are getting in the habit- it takes 3 weeks to build a new habit.
