Cleanse Your Insides

Detoxification diets are the latest craze in the health world. It has been hailed by both the novices and celebrities alike, becoming a part of the official health trend list in countless tabloid magazines (and professional health literature as well.) It has its own unique aura unlike other health remedies in that it promises to "cleanse" the body instead of "curing it" or relieving a symptom. From top to bottom, the purpose of 'detox' (as it's referred) is to rid the body of toxins. This process is aimed at different organs of the body, including the kidneys and lungs but predominantly in the blood. In essence, detox targets the organs that flush out wastes.

Detox programs rests its illustrious crosshairs on these organs by providing them with the supplements needed to flush wastes. The kidneys and bowels, for example, help to produce urinal and feces that are waste byproducts. By going through a detox program, you are strengthening these organs to do their job more effectively. Detox doesn't mean a special, ultra-liquid that flows through your blood zapping away wastes and dead cells, eventually settling out of your body through bowel movements. That is a misconception many people have.

To jumpstart your detox regimen, the first order of business is to choose a weekend to begin. You will feel tired and drugged throughout the first days of your campaign, so make sure you have enough downtime. Rest your nerves and don't perform too much stressful activity at home. This means turning off your cell phone, playing some calming music, and reading instead of running the treadmill and causing a ruckus. Keep your mind fresh to keep your organs fresher. During a detox diet, it is also important to stay hydrated. Be savvy by drinking plenty of water, fruit juice and green tea which help to blast toxins out of your body. Fiber rich foods like fruits and wheat also do the deed as well.

All in all, this cleansing diet should not be in effect for more than three days. If you have certain conditions like diabetes, kidney problems, and heart disease, then you should stay away from this plan. Remember, it is critical you avoid too much physical exercise, mental overload, and caffeine boosters like soft drinks, alcohol, and No Doz pills. You are flushing wastes out of your body, not adding them. By going through this regimen, you will feel the waves of health sweep through your blood stream getting rid of the wastes for optimal health.
