First I started searching the internet for blogs on weight loss. I am not trying to look like Kim Kardashian or her beautiful sisters. I am only trying to look like the beautiful person I am. No searching for diet pills or starvation plans. We all know that does not work, afterall if it did then there would be no issues with obesity in America. I wanted to find people who were like me, those who needed to lose 50 pounds or more. I wanted to find people who had been successful and those who maintained their blogs on a regular basis. Afterall what good is a blog that has had no new posts in over a year? I read those blogs for days, looking at how they were excerising and what types of meals were they eating. I even ended up starting my own blog Oops I ate the Cookies. A blog for me to share with others, but also a place for me to documents my progress.
Next I chose a plan for me. I knew that counting calories would not work for me. I had no desire to figure out the calories in every food that I ate. So I went back to what I know, Weight Watchers is a plan that I know well and am able to do on a daily basis. I chose to tweek the plan so it will work for me. Basically I use a range of points instead of a set number of points, which the current Weight Watchers plan. I found some printable journals online and set up a binder. Now I am able to track my points and have everything handy for me in one place.
Another key element in losing weight is excerise. Wait don't stop reading or think once I lose some weight I will start. Start from the beginning of your journey. Not only did walking help me to lose the weight. It also motivated me to eat right. After all what was the sense of walking a mile or more and then stuffing cookies in my face. Since I do walk some and spend most of my work day on my feet. I began walking one mile at least three times a week. A good website to use to map out your distance is Mapmywalk. This website will allow you to map out different areas in your city, showing how far you have walked.
So far I can honestly say losing these pounds has been easy. I make better choices in what I eat and drink. I look forward to my morning walks. There is no all or nothing approach with me this time. I still have cookies and other treats, but they are planned. I enjoy them and continue on the right path. Sure I have slipped but I picked myself up and moved on. If you are ready to start a journey of weight loss. Try some of the things I did and you will be on your way to a new and healthy you.
