How to Stay Up to Date with USCIS

Sophie Spyrou

As a Permanent Resident of the United States, I like to keep abreast of what is going on with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) so that I do not miss a beat. If you are in a similar position, or are married to someone who is, what can you do to stay up to date with the latest USCIS news and current events?

Visit the Official USCIS Web Site

An easy way to stay up to date with the latest immigration news, events and changes to U.S. immigration law is to visit the official USCIS web site by clicking here. The homepage is easy to navigate and will give you clear, concise direction, and links to pages that are relevant to you, such as how to apply for U.S. citizenship, locating the customer service number and finding out about the current fee schedule.

Bookmark the homepage so that you can easily refer back to it if you need to check on something or need to download a form for future use. Immigration laws change over time, so do not rely on information you were told about five years ago. Even information that was correct 12 months ago may have changed since that time.

Sign Up for Alerts from USCIS

If you are not keen on the idea of regularly visiting the USCIS web site for news and events that have been taking place, you can sign up for email alerts from USCIS instead. Click here to sign up for email alerts from USCIS. You can manage your preferences at any time or disable alerts if you do not feel that they are relevant for you.

USCIS is constantly changing and implementing improvements, thus streamline the application process, to make things easier for petitioners and applicants alike. If you are a Permanent Resident and want to keep up to date with the latest USCIS news and current events, it is easy to do so without having to search with difficulty for what you want. A good way to keep up to date is by visiting the official USCIS web site, where you will find the latest news and events. Another way to stay up to date with what is going on is by signing up for alerts from USCIS.
