How to Stay Fashion Forward in an Uncertain Economy

With the news of a serious real estate slump, continued company lay offs and soaring consumer product prices, it is getting even more difficult to stay on top of the latest fashions without breaking the bank. However, I recently found that there are several ways that a fashion forward diva can stay trend ready in a trying market without sacrificing quality.

How To Stay Fashion Forward In An Uncertain Economy: Discount Retail Department Stores

Kohl's, TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshal's and Target are among several discount department stores who have stepped up to the plate in order to provide budget conscious consumers real designer fashions at reasonable prices. Kohl's department store is one of the leading discount retailers who have teamed up with powerhouse designers such as Vera Wang, Elle and Daisy Fuentes and many more in bringing designer fashions to an affordable level. Target has also introduced a few renowned women's fashion designers such as Isaac Mizrahi, Dean Harris and Anya Hindmarch all providing amazing fashions at a discount. For example, check out Isaac Mizrahi's Cashmere Turtleneck Dress for Target priced at $69.99 or Simply Vera Vera Wang's sophisticated Double Breasted Cardigan by Kohl's for only $50.99.

How To Stay Fashion Forward In An Uncertain Economy: Designer Resale Consignment Stores

Local consignments stores around the country are starting to see an influx of fashion forward consumers who have the need for designer labels without the designer price. These retail venues are experiencing a surge in consignment items, therefore giving the fashion diva an opportunity to find exceptional buys and bargains on fine designers such as Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Michael Kors. For example, on any given day you can find tremendous bargains on designer labels at the Clothes Horse Anonymous, a upscale resale consignment store in Dallas, Texas, where you will find anywhere from Ralph Lauren to Seven Jeans at phenomenal prices.

How To Stay Fashion Forward In An Uncertain Economy: Thrift and Goodwill Stores

Let's not rule out Goodwill, Thrift or Salvation Army stores. Thrift stores have always been one of my favorite places to shop for good bargains on designer labels. It just depends on the neighborhood and time of year where you will snag your greatest finds. When the economy was good, thrift stores were the perfect place for women's designer clothing and could be even more of a gem in an uncertain economy, because people who have over indulged in the past are looking to donation more in uncertain times to these organizations, therefore providing more bargains and more deals on designer clothing, accessories and outerwear.

Even though we are currently in an economy slump, you do not have to sacrifice your need for designer fashions. Therefore take the time to visit any of these places in order to stay trendy without over spending.
