How to Stay Healthy on a Budget: Save Money and Maintain Your Health
How to Save Money, Stay Healthy and Lose Weight
I propose you that next time when you fill the fridge to keep in mind the following tips:
1. Do a list!
If you do a plan before going to the market, it will be easier for you to shop exactly what you need. When you search for a certain item on the list, it's difficult to pay attention to other products that may charge your bill.
Go shopping only after you noted on the list healthy products, with high nutritional values.
2. Renew and prepare!
I'm not telling you to make a pudding of the remaining ingredients, but think about the grilled chicken prepared with a day before. You can add it to a salad made of lettuce, radish, cheese dressing and you'll have a safe lunch.
3. Forget about foreign products!
We get bored often by the same foods and wish to serve something exotic, especially when it's about fruits! However, remember that exotic fruits can cost even 5 times more that American products.
If you feel the need to forget about the shelves of supermarkets, go to market! You will find there a much greater variety of fruits and vegetables, and changing the landscape will offer you a new perspective on the products purchased. You will realize that they are much healthier and taste better.
4. Do not be fooled by the label!
As you know the big supermarkets have developed their own brand products. These are similar to those from well known companies, but they are cheaper. If you believe that this is a way to save money, think twice.
In truth, these products are much cheaper, but they don't have the same nutritional values as the products you usually buy. You can try them and feel the difference. Your health shouldn't be put in danger for a small amount of money paid in addition.
5. Pay attention to discounts and promotions!
We all know how great the promotions at large stores are, but you must be very careful. Maybe the price of a chicken is smaller that day than usual, but the best solution is to not let yourself attracted by such discounts. The products will expire in 2-3 days after you buy them.
6. Never go shopping on an empty stomach!
In general, people react impulsively when they are hungry. You will all kind of products that will attract you more than ever, You will have cravings which you will not be able to control and, this way, you'll buy even double than you need.
