Recently in the news their has been a lot of talk about Graves disease which is an autoimmune disease that affects your thyroid. This has moved many moms to start thinking more about their own thyroid. Millions of moms have to deal with thyroid problems on a daily basis. After speaking with several moms who have had to deal with this problem, many say that exhaustion is one of the biggest issues. Being a stay at home mom, and coping with thyroid related tiredness can be just as difficult as having a job outside of the home, while dealing with this problem. According to WebMD.com, many thyroid problems cause fatigue and exhaustion. Even after receiving treatment many can still fight with being tired on a daily basis. So how can you still handle dealing with the kids, and caring for the home while coping with this problem? Below are several tips and suggestions that may prove beneficial to stay at home moms.
Start by visiting the doctor
Of course the first and most obvious solution is usually the one that is most overlooked. Moms usually think of themselves last, and this includes stay at home moms. Going to the doctor is usually at the bottom of the checklist of things that need to be completed. If you think that your exhausted state is due to the fact of an underlying thyroid problem, then you need to make a doctors appointment as soon as possible. If the doctor finds that you do have a thyroid problem they may prescribe medication that will help you deal with the systems, and get you back to the energy levels that you need to be at.
Get help as needed
While you are dealing with your thyroid issues it makes sense to get help as needed. See if you can get family members or friends to help you around the house and with the kids. Remember that just because you are a stay at home mom, this does not mean that you have to do it all by yourself. Never allow your pride to stop you from asking for help.
Change your diet
After having spoke with many moms dealing with this problem I was surprised to find out how your diet can help with your exhaustion levels. Speak to your doctor about changing your diet to help with your exhaustion. The doctor may be able to offer a few suggestions that you can use as a guide.
