Baskets or small portable shelves to hold paper. On your desk you need at least 2 of them. One basket is for current projects that needs done or you are working on, this way you know where your information is when working on it. The other basket is for papers and projects that are completed and need filed. The best way to stay organized is keeping these baskets cleaned up, file the papers at the end of the day and always start with a clean basket the next morning for the filing basket. Every morning when you come in you will want to check and go through your "current" basket to see what needs done for the day. Always put these papers on top since you will be working on that.
Make lists everyday of important tasks that you need to get done, as you get them done during the day check them off the list. This way you always know which jobs you still have left to do. With your list you want to have the most important things at the top, then write the times that they need done by beside the task on the list. This way you will be able to manage your time better.
Keeping your email opened during the day will allow you to quickly check your emails throughout the day. Only answer the important ones when they come in, other ones can wait till you have time during the day. It's easy to get distracted by emails when working on something else.
Finish one project before moving on to the next, this way you won't have many unfinished projects going at once. It's hard to be organized if you have projects started and not finished through out the day.
Even if you're not an organized person you can appear to other to be organized, but if you use these easy tips you may find yourself getting more organized and being more productive during the day.
