How to Stay Wrinkle Free

Wrinkles are a fact of life for most of us, unless you've been blessed with anti-aging genes. There are some things you can do to help stave off the onset of wrinkles. Here are some great tips to help you stay wrinkle free.

1. Stay out of the sun. It's the largest cause of wrinkles, and one of the most heard about. Not only does it cause wrinkles, but can lead to skin cancer as well. Stay pale, and stay wrinkle free.

2. Wear a good sunscreen if you do need to spend time in the sun. Use a high SPF formula to help protect your skin against harmful UV rays.

3. Stop smoking. There are a hundred reasons not to smoke, bad skin is just one of them. Cigarette smoke has been found to have an enzyme that breaks down collagen and elastin which are important componenets in the skin. Kick the habit now.

4. Sleep well. Getting enough sleep at night will give your body a chance to produce excess cortisol. This is a hormone that breaks down skin cells, and will help keep your skin more "elastic" and less likely to wrinkle.

5. Use your glasses. Squinting to read or watch the television can cause wrinkles to form around your eyes. Wear sunglasses as well, it'll help save your eyes from the sun's damaging rays.

6. Eat more fish. Eating foods that are high in Omega-3 can provide your body with essential fatty acids that nourish the skin and keep it plump and youthful.

7. Eat more fruits and vegetables. They contain important antioxidants, which can make your skin look younger and more radiant.

8. Use a moisturizer. A simple moisturizer can provide your skin with much needed moisture to simplify lines. In addition to this, don't over-wash your face. Washing your face dries out your skin which takes away the protection to your face.

If you find that you do have wrinkles and want to get rid of them, there are things you can do as well. Botox is a well known "cure" for wrinkles, and is popular amongst the deep-pocketed. Laser and light resurfacing can also help, it will remove the stop layer of skin which will cause the skin's natural collagen production to kick in and produce a smoother, wrinkle-free skin. The same result will come from a chemical peel and dermabrasion.
