Get His Attention

Guys are suckers for female attention, so his attention you must grab. Give compliments but subtlety is a key ingredient. Don't overdo it, but yet make your point that you notice whatever you're noticing. Find something to notice.

Flirt

You want him to know there's no doubt about it you're interested, but keep in mind acting like a stalking albatross isn't the objective either.

Look Your Best

Looking good is important if you know ahead of time you'll be around that guy. Dress attractively, but not inappropriate, alluring and cute, but not boring.

Make It Count

There will only be so many times to make an impression, so you've got little time to make your presence count. Develop a rapport with him because if he breaks up with his girlfriend, you want to place yourself as the number one prospect.

Relationship Update

Tacitly ask how his relationship is going from time to time. If he complains about his girlfriend, it's a good sign. Capitalize on it. If he's headed for a break up, make yourself conveniently and coincidentally available at the finish line. If it's going well, consider pulling back.

Knowing When

There comes a point in time when a decision needs to be made on whether to give up the pursuit or keep plugging away with some of these tips in hopes that his current relationship will end soon. A gut feeling will tell you one way or the other.
