How to Stop Caffeine Breakouts

We all know caffeine isn't good for us; it stimulates our nervous system, speeds up our heart rates, and throws the whole body completely out of balance, causing an after caffeine "crash." Yet still for some reason we just can't stay away from it! But would you stop drinking it if you knew your acne was due to caffeine breakouts?

Here's how caffeine causes acne:

-- The caffeine enters your bloodstream, and immediately starts telling all of your cells to work faster and harder

-- Now that all your cells are put into high-gear, you feel great and energetic. But at the same time that you are getting a boost of energy, you are also getting an extra boost of hormones. This puts your hormones severely off balance (the leading cause of acne is hormonal imbalance!)

-- One of these hormones that gets released in high levels is called cortisol. Cortisol is a stress hormone - it makes you feel tense and on edge. It is has also been scientifically proven to cause breakouts (stress is the second leading cause of acne!)

-- At the end of your caffeine rush, your body experiences a crash. This makes everything (including your hormones) swing to the very opposite side of the pendulum - now your body is completely confused!

-- The next day you proceed to do this all over again, thus confusing your body even more!

So what is the best thing you can do about all this? Replace your daily caffeine shot with a glass of cold water. Water is the very best thing you can drink if you have caffeine breakouts. Can't give up caffeine? Green tea will still give you a boost while providing you with lots of healthy antioxidants.
